Tattoo Design Suggestions Please?

Reflecting on my life one day after coming home from working out at the gym I realized I really do want
a tattoo now. I've been thinking about getting one for awhile now but now I'm set on getting one but I don't want just anything.... The reason why I want the tattoo in the first place is to remind myself of everything I've been through in life or at least to remember the good times and keep going. The tattoo has to symbolize both good spirit, positivity, will to go on even when things aren't going my way, and respect. I plan to have it on my right arm (upper half)..and maybe chest if it's a big piece.

Can you guys suggest something??

After a few seconds I want to know why they got those tattoos. If they said 'cause I thought they'd be sexy,' I'd instantly be turned off. It has to mean something to you. Tattoos are an expression of the artist who drew and colored it, and the person who the tattoo is on. The artwork becomes just ink and lines if it is meaningless.

I already have a tattoo on my foot, and I want another done. I decided that a small tattoo on my ribs (right below a bra/bathing suit) is where I wanted it, however I do not know what to get. I wanted a word, but 1. I could not find one that wasnt cliche like dream, or faith, and 2. The tattoo on my foot is an italian phrase, so I figured that would be too much words.
So does anybody have any ideas? I'm open to single words, as long as there not cliche. Also,
other spots I would want to get tattooed are: the back of my neck, behind my ear or one in the collarbone/shoulderblade area. So if anybody has any ideas for those places as well, that would be great.
Please, no suggestions of hearts, stars, music notes, butterflies or oriental characters, I just need a good jumpstart on ideas, and these are not helpful-- thanks.

You should go to google and type in "tattoo pictures tumblr." I did that once when just looking for ideas and so many beautifully done tattoos popped up and I got so many ideas.

Some ideas for my nape tattoo?

Q. I want to get a tattoo on the nape of my neck and I want something small, but colorful. I just don't know what it is going to be exactly.. If anyone has any pictures or any suggestions, let me know. (: I don't really want to have something like a butterfly or anything that you see commonly.. it's a very beautiful tattoo. but when you actually go to get it be sure to get your artist's thoughts on it too. i had a tattoo that i had drawn up myself and thought i was set on how i wanted it to look, but when i saw how the artist added just a few minor changes it was spectacular. tattoo artists are amazing at tweaking a few little minor things to make the tattoo a bit more personal.

I think you should NOT get a butterfly tattoo, since it will result in you having some ugly cartoon inked PERMANENTLY into your body for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. It will never be "presentable"--people will ALWAYS look at you with loathing if you have a tattoo. I strongly urge you to reconsider getting tattooed. Your body is clean now, and not profaned by any graffiti, but that will change forever if you pay some tattoo predator to forever ruin your body with a tattoo. You have lasted this long without tattoo, do not cave to the pressure from lesser people or a sick society and take that fatal step. Everything will change for you, for the worse, after you get that first tattoo. The true cost of a tattoo is a lifetime of regret. There is an 80% chance you will regret it in your lifetime. Many people will look at you with disgust, for tattoos are offensive to many, many people. Your chances of getting a good job will be greatly diminishedâmost companies will not hire you since your tattoo will be seen as offensive to other workers. There is nothing good about a tattoo. Well I am getting a tattoo next month but I haven't decided what I want to get yet. I want to get my kids names ( maybe birthdays also ) but I want some kind of design like a heart or butterfly and I want to put my oldest daughter's name above it and my youngest daughters name below it, but I cannot find any websites that have letter designs and most of the sites that I have looked at, you have to pay to look at full size pics of the tattoos so, does anyone have any good sites I can go to or any pics of your own tattoos that you wouldn't mind sharing, thank you!

Tinywitch- I'm not sure if I am actually getting the tattoo next month but normally my mom give me a $200 gift card to a clothing store, I told her this year I wanted a gift card for a local Tattoo shop. I have checked them out and they do have a design there that I really like but I am just keeping my options open just in case I see something I like better.
Also I am getting it on my upper back right under my neck. I don't want it too big, I would say 4 or 5 inches in width and maybe 2 or 3 inches in height.
Chelly- The I have checked out a few with some moons and stars but I cannot find any that will look right where I want to put mine ( on my upper back, right under my neck ).

I would go to your local tattoo shop and look at the different designs they have you might be able to get some ideas there also a few of the guys I know also freehand designs they might be able to come up with one that will be unique. That's what I had done with mine. A friend of mine wanted something so she could have her kids names in it also and she went with precious moments it was the moon and stars the lil girl was laying on the moon looking up at the stars and each star had her kids name in it . Take your time and don't rush things if u haven't found one u really like. Tattoos cost a lot to have taken off. Good Luck finding the right design

I am looking for a any suggestions on a "soft" tattoo. Kind of like a in memory of my mother type. I have several ideas, in my head, but, they are not unique. I want it to be personable and from the heart, therefore I want it to be with a butterfly, fairy or angel and flowers, which are something my mother loved. She was a devoted gardener, and loved the others I listed. Now my problem is, I can't figure out how to put the three together, that will be unique with putting her name in that design as well. I looked at several websites for any tattoo design help, but found nothing I really liked. Since I have a few tattoo's already, the only place that would be enough room for a detailed tattoo is my shoulder blade or my outer thigh. So anyone have any ideas? Thanks

How about:
The profile of a Fairy with butterfly wings & a halo, sitting on the edge of a tombstone, sadly looking down at the flower in its hands.

The tombstone would have your mother's first name, followed by the phrase "Loving Mother", then under that: the year she was born - the year she passed away.

Explain it to the Tattoo artist & he can draw up some ideas to illustrate it. Together you both can fine-tune it until it looks right to you.

How can I get rid of a tattoo behind my ear?

I am trying to get into the military but have a tattoo behind my right ear. I have tried several different ways of getting rid of it already which has left it faded. I am trying to find a quick/effective way of getting rid of it. It is a small/medium size outline of a butterfly. If you have tried something that worked for you to leave it extremely faded or removed it completely please let me know.

If you're just going to tell me I should have thought about it before I got the tattoo don't even waist your time commenting. At the time I got it, I was in school and had no intention of joining the military and wasn't even aware of the tattoo regulations.

I don't know anything that is as effective as laser. I've heard the picosure is the newest and as what they say the fastest to remove even colored tattoos but it doesn't come cheap. I too have a tattoo that I want to get removed but I don't want to do something like burning it off with a cigarette that will just leave a nasty scar and is moooore painful than getting the tattoo. Or sandpapers.

I've tried hydrogen peroxide, exposing it to sun rays.. nothing worked. The ink was deposited layers underneath with tattoo needles repeatedly piercing your skin so the only thing I can recommend is laser. Fading creams only work on the outside so it's a total waste of money, actually. I'm currently saving up for the cost, I know it's a lot of $$$ but it's the only way I can live my life normally again. Mistakes are part of our lives. Oh and just be positive about it. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Good luck. :)

*To Summer: I've seen dermatology clinics downtown offering closing up ear tunnels so everything is really possible nowadays. :)

No but I have been thinking of getting one of the symbols of my Sun, Moon and Rising signs. I already have 2 tattoos already. One is of a colourful butterfly on the back of my right shoulder and the other, my more recent and most painful one lol is of 3 large Monarch butterflies going up the back right side of my back. I have 2 tattoos (well 4 if you count them individually). One is of a small colourful butterfly on the back of my right shoulder and other other more recent one is of 3 large Monarch butterflies going up my back right side. They each have a lot of meaning to me. I have also considered getting a tattoo on my foot of the symbols of my Sun, Moon and Rising sign with little stars around it but at the minute I can't.

As for piercings, im not that into them. I have my ears pierced twice in each ear and I used to have my belly button pierced but I took it out.

Im 33yr old female and finally got my 1st tattoo, I wasnt afraid of the getting the tatt but wanted to make sure I wouldnt regret it. I got a lovely neat tattoo of a scorpion (birth sign) on my lower right side of my back and I just love it, but now I would love a large piece all along my right back and I would like to incorporate my scorpion, so any ideas, Im not into anything girly like hearts, flowers, butterflies etc and I would like it to mean something, I was thinking of a concept of good vs evil, greed/poor, heaven/hell. What do tattoo artists think of doing lower back tattoos?

So, I'm curious what tattoo artists think about doing lower back tattoos? Are you sick of doing them? Do you think they are dumb? I really want one that has a lot of meaning to me personally and I'm not the stereotypical "tramp stamp" girl. Does it make a difference if the tattoo is meaningful and not "just because?"

I'm 30 years old and stay fit. I go to a gym and just finished running my first half marathon back in November. I have been married 5 years and with my husband a total of 8 years. I have a masters degree and work as an accountant and plan to sit for the CPA exam within the next year. I'm telling you all this first of all to show you that I am not your stereotypical lower back tattoo candidate. My husband thinks that it will look really good and he has been encouraging me to "just do it". So, I did my research and the first artist was very dismissive, but the 2nd one took my idea and gave it a twist and made it completely original and unique for just me and I absolutely love it!!!!

First off, There will be a red roses in the design. I know that roses are typical, but "believe it or not" it has significance to me and there was a reason I chose this. The rose itself is in honor of my grandmother who died in January. She was known for her green thumb and before she died she wanted to smell a real rose. So, my church contacted a rose greenery down in Texas and they sent her a rose bush for free and my dad took a picture of her sitting next to it. That was the last picture taken of her before she died and the place in Texas has planned on naming a rose after my grandmother, "Claribel." A lot of people say that I have a lot of her strength inside of me! The red color stands for love, respect, and strength.

In the center there will be the Chinese symbol for water which stands for life, higher wisdom, transformation, renewal, intuition, and blessing. He made it look like water is swishing up around the symbol like the parting of the red sea! I love that! This part of the tattoo stands for all of the adversities that I have faced over the past year and overcome. My family has been through so much, but we are survivors and are moving forward! I also graduated and finished my college education (finally) this past year. It took me forever to do that! This tattoo will be like freezing a moment in my life that I never want to forget. A moment when the odds were against me and I persevered!!! Ironically, the water symbol is also my astrological sign as well since I am a Cancer. Also, there will be a ladybug and a couple of butterflies ( I know stereotypical, but its cool because they are pointed at the water symbol as if watching in anticipation or in awe of some kind of spectacle!)

Ideas for an ankle tattoo?

ideas of a Music oriented tattoo?

Im looking to get my third tattoo. I want something that shows my appreciation to music. I will get on my left side, rib cage area. Im having a hard time deciding on a design though. Im thinking about getting a music symbol with a crown hanging down from the top " swoosh" part of the symbol with like some red and white lines busting out in the background. What do you think.

I was also considering getting the 18 string guitar like jimmy page used to play on my side, with the red and white lines in the background, as kind of a tribute to Zepplin and EVH

What about sheet music of your favorite song................ say about 8 to 16 beats with the notes looking like it would on sheet music........... then it would mean something............... and people would have to ask what it meant, and you could explain if you know how to read sheet music. picture tats look like crap. If you go into a tat shop and get something off the wall, thats pathetic and unoriginal..... if you do that, you might as well get the international sign for aim here.......which is a butterfly above the but for women. Does every woman have a slutty tat above their but?

my friend came up with this idea of a butterfly and inside the wings are notebook paper with words on it. i thought that could be a very artist design. i have come up with a few inculding one that was called shooting stars( a pistol with vines and a few stars coming out of the ballar) whats the most creative idea you have, seen, or hear of?

My husband has the sweetest tattoo. It's a basketball on fire going into a hoop (there are smaller basketballs there as well to make the effect realistic) and when it comes out of the hoop, the ball is frozen. It's in honor of his father who played ball and his nickname is Ice.

I origionally wanted to get this exact same tattoo, in the same spot.. but now I'm thinking of changing the location of the shooting stars part to somewhere else leading up to the rib cage, because the stars is my FAVORITE part of the tattoo & if I ever decide to have kids, it will most likely be ruined if I were to get that part on the stomach. Have you thought about it wrapping around from your upper back to ribcage?

That's a neat design, but like you said you're not 100% on it all. Make sure it means something personal and important to you. If the animals mean something, then maybe have an animal on your back with a fade somewhere in the middle of it to become stars (in my head I saw a tiger on a shoulder blade area with its back legs and tail becoming the stars, and then those wrapping around and down to your front a bit). If you keep a lot of it descending on the back, then coming just a bit around the side and front, it won't stretch nearly as much on your middle and hips as the picture would, should you have children.

Personally I think it could be pretty cool, there's a lot of different things you can do with that.
Also, tattoos on women are really enticing. Quite attractive, so make it count.

Hi there, I think the many tattoo gallery sites out there that offer you tattoo designs for a monthly or annual subscription have their place but for someone who's looking for ideas of something to get, perhaps their not the best.

An alternative is to use a site where they offer you a download that you pay for but that has a 100% money back guarantee (like if you're not happy, get a refund within 30 days) that way you get the designs. You have to remember though to ask for the refund within the time limit though and make sure they deal through a recogonised payment portal that has safeguards against unscrupulous traders who claim one thing and do another.

Tattoo art is called flash so if you type "flash" into google images, you'll get a ton of stuff. However, you might get something you like better if you have someone draw you something personal. Tattoo artists do that all the time. One of my best friends is a tattoo artist. People come in saying things like "Uh... I want something sort of like a bird or maybe a butterfly and maybe red or something..." and after a few minutes of talking to them she can draw a picture they're all about. Just go into the parlor and talk. Or get in touch with the answerer who wants to draw it for you. Another option is to just browse parlors. Every tattoo shop has flash on its walls and binders full of photos of tats the employees there have actually done. That also lets you see who does the kind of quality work that you'll want on your body forever.

Butterflies always remind me of the film Papillon and all the misery in it. Butterflies don't seem good for tattoos somehow whatever. A swallow or swift always looks good, but on the side of your boob, not away under it. The first quote sounds best, the second might be depressing in older age.
No quote all might be best, it would break up the lines of the bird....and I know it would look good, I've seen one before.

No,,it doesn't scream whore to my mind, which I accept is going to be different from some other peoples, just I don't think it's a good place to put such a tattoo. Don't worry about the A cup either, small is nice to plenty of people, and a tattoo is a very personal thing. The back of shoulder is another good place as is the upper arm.

I want to get my first tattoo soon and need some help with ideas.
I want one to remember my daughter, who was stillborn in January. At first I wanted some writing of a poem that I liked, but then thought about angel wings on my ribs.

As the poster before me has stated, yes she has a butterfly tattoo on her chest and that should be taken very literally (it's on the lower left quadrant of her left "one")

She has discussed her tattoos publicly, on a Tonight Show appearance in 1996 when Jay Leno noticed the angel on her arm. (a small angel on her left upper arm)

More recently, in 2007or 2008, when she was asked about them by Perez Hilton, she referred to them as "pastels" and it looks like she has added some since 1996 on her upper arms.

Ideas for adapting existing tattoo?

Q. A year or so ago I got my spine tattooed - butterflies spaced from the bottom of my neck to the small of my back, kind of randomly placed around the spine and linked in places with sweeping lines. It really didn't turn out the way I'd hoped, The art work on each individual butterfly is childlike and cartoonish, although I still love the idea of WHERE it is. Now I'm wondering about having it adapted in some way. All I can come up with is having some sort of snake/serpent to cover them but I'd love to have some other ideas too. Anyone got any?

The butterfly idea sounds cute. How about you get the child like butterflys covered with a leave design and mix this in with the swirls to like make an entanglement of twigs and stems and have new decently drawn butterflys added on where you have space. It will look girlie and cute.

Id go to a really good tattoo artist who will give you ideas and draw you some new ideas. Always go to one who does their own art rather than just using the ready made stencil tats that a lot of places use.

You can't pick a tattoo because you aren't ready for one.

It's great that you know where you want to place a tattoo, but you seem to be the indecisive type who can't jump right in and get just anything and that's fine. I'm the same way. There are some people who get butterflies and hearts and stuff like that, but they tend to be the compulsive type or the ones who want a tattoo just so that they can say they have one (or because they think it's sexy).

A tattoo is going to be there for a long time. You need to find a design that you like and that actually means something to you.

You haven't come across something that means something special to you yet, but chances are you will eventually. Wait until that happens before you get a tattoo. You'll be happier with it, I promise.

If you want to speed up the process, just keep your eyes open. We discover new things every day. Some of those things become important and special to us and we carry them with us for the rest of our lives. Maybe you'll carry yours with you as a tattoo.

A tattoo gun is the default method of getting a tattoo (unless you plan on going through the considerably longer and more painful processes of traditional Polynesian or traditional Japanese tattooing...). Calligraphy simply means "beautiful writing"- it is a font style like "handwriting" or "printing" (or if you're into computers, "Arial" or "Times New Roman"), not a means of applying a tattoo.

Most, if not all, tattoo parlors have a large amount of "flash", pictures of simple designs, for those who don't know what they want in a tattoo. Go to your local parlors and look on their walls, and through their portfolios. That will help you get some ideas on what you like.

Since I don't know you or your personality, "I EM WE TODD DID" tattooed on your forehead might be just as valid as a full-back tattoo of Barbie, which is just as valid as a biomech dragon sleeve, in your eyes. Asking random people for ideas, without giving us any clue as to why you want it, what you want it to symbolize, what you like, or what you're like, is pretty useless.

Are you very feminine? Opt for flowers, small birds, butterflies, dainty vinework, symbols of love, etc.
Are you tough? Opt for dragons, tigers, wolves, lions, stonework, symbols of strength or power.

At age 16 I used a needle and some India ink to put:
I (heart) Pat! on my left upper thigh/hip area. He was my boyfriend at the time. Except the tail of the 'a' later faded so now it looks like ' I (heart) Pot!' LoL Which I don't, but that just had to be the spot that faded. (I'm 32 now and still happily married to the same 'Pat' I was dating at 16).

At age 18 I did the cliche Unicorn Head on my Right hip, it still looks pretty but I've learned by now that I want original tattoos, not the flash art or cliche things like a rose, butterfly, or unicorn.

That tattoo was my first 'real' one did by an artist, and it was done in celebration of my marriage, moving away from home, and being 'grown up' now. (I was still a kid though as only age teaches you).

At age 20 something (I truly forgot the period when this one was done) I had Reverend Dark (a well known artist) do my intials on my upper Left breast. I loop my three intials together in a certain way - he traced my original signature and inked it onto my skin. He had fangs, long black hair, and spider webs inked at the corner of his eyes. I was terrified of him, yet he was the sweetest man once I got to know him. That tattoo was probably just a desire or whim of the moment inking. I know I had seen Mexican gang girls with names on their breasts and I thought it looked sexy. (I grew up in a small all white german Catholic town).

At age 32 I discovered Tim of Aardvarks Tattoos. He inked a celtic stone cross (large one!) onto the back of my neck this late May. It was for my grandmother who had just gotten seriously hurt, plus other family members. My children, husband, mother, and grandma. Plus an uncle who has a terminal disease. The cross has 4 gemstones, one at each point. Each gemstone is colored in the birthstone hue for my children, grandma, and husband. Then a yellow rose wraps up around the cross for my mom. Yellow roses are her favorite flower. The cross is for my uncle and everyone.

Then not even a month or so later (in June) I had Tim tattoo a beautiful hummingbird, purple flowers, and tribal like vine on my outter Right calf. It goes from almost my knee area to my ankle. My mother loves hummingbirds, and I figured better that then a skeleton ripping out of my skin. Might freak mom and my kids. *winks*

Annnnnnnnnd tonight, I razored a small star onto my left hand right between my pointer finger and thumb area. I then rubbed India ink into the cuts and presto, a beautiful perfect little star. This reminds me to follow my own path in life, to be true to myself and my family, and to never give up on my dreams or the future. It also reminds me how far I have come, and everything I have survived. It's one reason I did it myself.

I probably have another one that I've forgot about in my old age.

I'm going to get more of course, I'm a horrible whimp with the needles but I love the artwork once it's all said and done. I've learned that those who hate tattoos will tell you why they hate them.. what they think of tattoos on women, etc etc.. BUT I learned to ignore the negative people and just take pleasure in the many compliments and conversations strangers start up with me BECAUSE of my tattoos. *proud smile*

And for those who say 'it will look horrible when you're 80', I reply with 'so will the rest of me so who cares!' lol For those who say tattoos are somehow evil.. well, just ignore them because they have some serious mental issues and it's useless trying to convince them Satan didn't hold you down and ink your butt. hehee (No, I am not satanic.) For those who say ink is ugly on women, well those are usually the types who want a Barbie Doll perfect girlfriend so they wouldn't have liked somethign else on me or about me anyway (with or without the tattoos).

Piercings? I only my ears pierced with a 14g CBR and yes I screamed when Tim pierced them. It hurt! lol

there is no such thing as a cute butterfly tattoo. When you see a butterfly tattoo, aside from it being painfully generic and all too common, it typically means one of two things. No.1 - total flippin TRAMP. or No.2 Totally naive child's first tattoo.

I am lookign for a butterfly tattoo that has hearts and flowers in its wings. Does anyone have apicture or a drawing of what this might look like? Or do you think it would look too crowded? I think it sounds nice but it will probably be a bigger tattoo than maybe what you want. If I were you, I'd find a good tattoo artist in your area and sit down with the artist and have it drawn up. Then it will be your own custom tattoo. The artist will have plenty of suggestions on the size YOU want it to be and tell you what can be done. Good luck!

Fierce? Honestly, it depends on your individual as well. If you act all cute and stuffs, a tattoo won't make a difference.

But if you were to dress like a samurai, damn even I would be scared of you lol.

Anyway most tribal tattoo are simple and yeah mostly people won't say they're CUTE compared to butterflies and stars.

You won't go wrong.

Here are some cool ones you might like... But hey, if I were you, I would go for dragon tattoos. They are way fiercer lol.

Q. I asked on here a while ago for tattoo ideas...well I think I've settled on a small group of 3 butterflies sort of playing around at the top of my arm. I've found plenty of pretty individual butterflies that I could get incorporated into one design but I was looking for a few pictures of a group of them to see what arrangement I'd like, only I can't find any pics with a random group. They're either all in a line or on their own. If anyone has any pics they'd like to offer I'd be very grateful!

Some tattoo ideas I have, opinions?

I'm sixteen, and I don't plan on getting a tattoo until I'm well over eighteen and have thought about the design for a long time.

I have been speculating about certain designs though, and a few are going on my list of ideas.

A small, feminine koi fish with mostly outlining and a little bit of color

The words "Don't Panic" as a reference from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

I absolutely WILL NOT get any of the following: Hearts, stars, flowers, names, banners, asian symbols, butterflies, fairies, dolphins, yin and yang, celtic/tribal symbols, old english, insert any other cliche tattoo here. I know I'm contradicting that above with the koi fish/alice in wonderland ideas, but those I think are less common and easier to personify.

Also, any tattoo I get will be relatively small and preferably sans outline if I can get away with it. I won't do anything on my lower back, arms, ankles, or wrists.

eta: also, maybe with the torn flesh one you should just have like a 'patch' instead of torn flesh? in my opinion, the torn flesh ones look a little weird, like gross cause they are torn flesh lol..? i have a patch [i guess you could call it but it like curves with my body] of leopard print going from my foot to about half way up my calf on the inside of my leg, and i get lots of compliments on it.

I have a tattoo on my right foot. It's a black and grey rose and of a medium size.
I feel that my left foot is missing out and I feel like there should be a tattoo on that foot too.
Only thing is I don't want a matching tattoo to the one I already have. But I would like one that's different but not completely clashing.
I'm open to all suggestion, be that colour, size, anything!

Not matching, but not clashing, and not girly... hmm

Well a rose (as I see it, although I can't see your actual design, which might help if you'd like to upload it?) is a traditional, old school tattoo design, so in your shoes (no pun intended!) I'd try and find a type of tattoo with the same classification but totally different content. Perhaps an anchor design? I would personally stick to black and grey, I think one foot colour one foot black might look a bit odd, but then I'm a stickler for symmetry! I wouldn't want it myself, but if you're into hardcore and wanted something a bit traditional, I could perhaps see a simple black anchor sillhouette entwined with white/pale grey rope and a skull background with some very small black rose/flower detail around the edges.

Alternatively, if you wanted something a bit wacky, how about getting your other foot done all over in zebra/leapord print, or stripes, something a bit different!

Another alternative, you could simply stick with black and grey flower of a different sort, perhaps black cherry blossom or lillies?

Or *ideas flowing now* some big fat Kanji, translating into an expression of some significance to you, I could see large black Kanji working well with a black rose. If you go down that road, never just take eastern language off a flash wall, always get someone reliable who speaks the language check it out, you've no idea how many funny websites I've seen with people's mistaken Kanji tattoos or w/e!

On the japanese theme, you could also look into traditional japanese tattoo design, it's my favourite style, powerful and beautiful without being too girly (in my opinion!), just google it and see if it stirs up any inspiration!

My last idea... if you have a poem or song lyrics or some text that means something to you, you could simply have that written on your other foot (in English). Ouchy on your foot, lots of outline and detail, but would look awesome as a foot tattoo I think, particularly opposite your rose!

If you dislike tattoos, why are you in the tattoo section?

You don't know how old she is, perhaps she is even married already for all you know, and for many women these days marriage is not the be all and end all. I, for one, would not wish to be married to a man who would judge on something as superficial as what's on your skin.

I'm answering the question making the assumption she is a legal adult, and that's all that matters. She may regret it, she may not, who are you to judge? I'm not into the hardcore scene either, but would you have flinched so much if she'd mentioned she had flowers and butterflies? Don't let your prejudices affect your judgement. You've raised 3 children, and yet you're still instilling values like it's important to concentrate on 'boobies and butts'? Oh dear, you've gone wrong somewhere. I am a mother and I would never raise a child of mine with such poor appreciation of what matters in life.
