I want to get a small tattoo of a butterfly between my shoulders, right under my neck but I cant find a good picture of something of what I want. I've tried google. can anyone help me? know any websites where i can look at some?

Answer
They are a pretty common tattoo....which is why I went in an had my artist customize one up for me. Mine has pictures in it's wings instead of going for a typical butterfly. Everyone comments on how different mine is.

Tattoo designs...................?

Bekah! (:

I want to create a new tattoo. Unique.

It's going to go from just below my ribs, down to the edge of my jeans! ^_^

It's 13cm.

So, I want some vague ideas I could build on..

I've got a few months or so, before I plan on getting the tattoo. :P

So, it can be colour or black, it doesn't bother me...

But I want it to be unique... ^_^

Feel free to ask questions/for information.
It doesn't HAVE to be that big, obviously. I'm not bothered.

And as for the pain, I have a tattoo on my hip, and I dealt with that well ^^

Soo, yeah.
BTW, the tattoo I currently have, is on my right hip, this new one is going on the left side. :P
I was just asking for vague ideas. o_o

Answer
you are not going to find unique tattoos on Yahoo Answers
and it's my opinion that if you have to ask other people what you should get, you shouldn't be getting a tattoo

as for the pain, I'm not saying you can't take it....but rib tattoo pain is a special kind of beast.

good luck with whatever YOU decide on

Update:
I understand what you're asking for
and I think it's ridiculous
regardless, I should have at least answered your question, so here it goes:
get a random pattern of hearts, stars, butterflies, asian symbols, tribal, flowers, and maybe a music note or two.

Tattoo Design help?

AHHHHhhhhh

I am looking for a any suggestions on a "soft" tattoo. Kind of like a in memory of my mother type. I have several ideas, in my head, but, they are not unique. I want it to be personable and from the heart, therefore I want it to be with a butterfly, fairy or angel and flowers, which are something my mother loved. She was a devoted gardener, and loved the others I listed. Now my problem is, I can't figure out how to put the three together, that will be unique with putting her name in that design as well. I looked at several websites for any tattoo design help, but found nothing I really liked. Since I have a few tattoo's already, the only place that would be enough room for a detailed tattoo is my shoulder blade or my outer thigh. So anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Answer
How about:
The profile of a Fairy with butterfly wings & a halo, sitting on the edge of a tombstone, sadly looking down at the flower in its hands.

The tombstone would have your mother's first name, followed by the phrase "Loving Mother", then under that: the year she was born - the year she passed away.

Explain it to the Tattoo artist & he can draw up some ideas to illustrate it. Together you both can fine-tune it until it looks right to you.

I hope this helps you out a bit.

My condolences for the loss of your mother.

purple and yellow butterfly tattoo?

sweets

im getting a tattoo today and i want a yellow and purple butterfly...i need help finding pics for references so can u post the pic/link with your answers please??

Answer
Remember to be absolutely positive of the design of the butterfly itself before you get it. Ink's forever (Unless you want to get it removed, of course). The following link has numerous designs of butterfiles, just tell your tattooist where you want the colours to be different on them. ;)

I want to get a foot tattoo...but?

--bella

So I want to get a butterfly tattoo going down my foot (top of the foot). Something thats not too big.. Im trying to find a nice butterfly with maybe another design to elongate the tattoo. Can you find me some examples of nice butterfly foot tattoos? I also like colors like purple, blue, yellow/orange.

Answer
Photobucket.com has some really good ideas for any kind of tattoos... Here are a few pictures I've found...

http://media.photobucket.com/image/butterfly%20foot%20tattoos/CrazyWhiteGal/Tattoos/2.jpg?o=1 The best thing about this tattoo is that you can ask the tattooist to put whatever colors into that you want and it will still look fabulous. <3

And I really like this one... Not your traditional butterfly, but still very beautiful... http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i129/whybnormal5/footness.jpg

Tattoo suggestions?!?

itsaniafie

I want to get 3. One on my hand between my thumb and pointer finger, one on my foot, and one on the back of my neck. The one for my hand, im getting a butterfly, but the one for my foot and neck, i have no idea. I still have a while to think about it but do you have any suggestions?

Answer
The design possibilities are endless. I would suggest that you ask your tattoo artist to draw something custom for you. This way you have something that is original. I hope this helps. Good Luck ! and also a little warning..... getting tattooed is addicting. Just so you know. LOL

are there any artists who would like to help me draw up a tattoo? ?

Ashlee

email me and let me know, my tattoo is going to be about half my back, and dedicated to suicide prevention, i dont want anything brutal, like someone killing themselves.. id rather have something positive, and pritty, please help me out. im lookin to get it done in a couple months, and it means alot to me. thanks so much.

Answer
I have been thinking long and hard about what tattoo I would get. For many years in fact. I could ask people all day long, and at the end of the day NO ONE can design it but you. I would suggest you go to yahoo search or google search and type in (under images) individual descriptors like:

angel tattoo
sunrise tattoo
guiding light tattoo
hand tattoo(maybe of two hands joining to lift someone up)
hope tattoo
tree of life tattoo.....
what ever means a lot to you, butterflies, hearts, flowers.... and then make copies of what you liked from each one, then take that to a tattoo artist and tell him or her what you like in each photo, and then they can help you translate it into a tattoo. Not all artwork can easily be transferred into a tattoo without some tweaking. It's better if you let the artist who is doing the tattoo help you conceptualize something that you are 100% happy with. Good luck.

sexy tattoo design guys only?

leave a link to a a sexy tattoo that u want ur girl to have not to big thoe

Answer
While the following links attract my eye:
http://www.freetattoodesigns.org/butterfly-tattoos.html
(see abdomen)
http://tattoos.lovetoknow.com/Sexy_Tattoos
(see hidden: tummy tat and lower back)
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/232063/
(see multiple attractive women with great long tattoos)
After a few seconds I want to know why they got those tattoos. If they said 'cause I thought they'd be sexy,' I'd instantly be turned off. It has to mean something to you. Tattoos are an expression of the artist who drew and colored it, and the person who the tattoo is on. The artwork becomes just ink and lines if it is meaningless.

ok so im getting my first tattoo in a few months and i need a little help with the design. I want a sad angel like a teenage angel (female) with her knees curled up to her, and i want her reaching with one hand and looking towards three butterflies. It would be awesome if someone could draw this up for me and email it to me!! i would really appreciate it alot! this tattoo has alot of sentimental meaning to me.
i know how the tattoo business works.... im not asking for the actual design of what wil be on my body, im just asking for a rough drawing. i personally am a artist myself but i cant seem to get it just the way i want it

i want one no larger then the size of a womens fist and no smaller then the size of a half dollar. i would like it to have some color in it like blue, green, yellow, or purple (it doesnt have to be all of them) but i also want some black in it to. i would like it to be elegant and very feminine and very realsistic. i have also heard that a tattoo that will last longer has bold colors and not more then 4 colors, i would definately like a long lasting tattoo.

Idea for tattoo on lower/middle back?

FR33 L1K3

My mom and I have had alot of problems in the past, and just now getting over the whole schpeil, I thought it would be a very cool thing for us to go in together and get tattoos of possibly the same thing. I wanted to do it maybe close to X-mas.
~~~
My idea was for a gun, with thick vines wrapped all around the barrel, and a flower growing out of the end. Also a butterfly with a beach scene in the wings landing down atop the barrel, possible somthing else to tie it all together.
*lots of color
*lots of shading
We just so happened to be watching Miami Ink the other night together and she said things like "I wish I had gotten a tattoo on my lower back"
What do you think?
Answer
Well do not get one there unless you want every guy who sees it thinking you are a hooker or work in Adult movies, get your mum to watch a few and you will quickly find out what I mean.
I think the sexiest place for a tattoo for women is around the pubic area but it will hurt like hell. A butterfly with a beach scene in the wings sounds awesome forget the rest, design something yourself or have someone design it for you.
TATTOOS GUARANTEED TO TWO WEEKS AFTER DEATH - sign in tattoo parlour.
I'd love an artists idea on what images are compatible?
Alice
I have four small hearts tattooed between hip bone and pubic area on my left side. I wanted another simple little image next to it as well. Maybe a half moon... So I would love some ideas of various other images that would be cute with hearts. Thanks!
Answer
A crescent moon is a good idea :-)
Other possibilities :
butterfly
lady bug (red & black lady bug would go nicely with red hearts)
star(s)
musical note
tiny flower/bloom
dandelion
a chain linking the hearts
bow & arrow (Cupid's)
angel or only partial angel eg. only the wings
clouds
scrolls or some abstract flourishes
a word such as love, peace, etc.
tiny nightingale
pearl in an oyster
sea shell
feather .......
Hope some of these inspire :-)
Pink butterfly/stars and fairy dust tattoo!?
amybabyluv
id really like to get a tatto on my wrist of like 3 baby pink butterflys with dust and stars, but i can't find a decent idea anywhere - - i sort of know what i want, but even a few pics of tattoos might help (girlie ones) - if any of u have a tattoo can u tell me what is it please?
Answer
Niki STFU.
Anyway, onto your question, it sounds to me like you already have your design. You know what you want and you can describe it well. You shouldn't go out looking for the exact design you want already drawn up, you want it to be original just for you.
Go to the tattoo studio you want to get it done at and tell them what you want. Sure if you want you can take some examples, but they only have to hold elements of what you want, like "I like this butterfly style" or whatever, then they will draw your design up for you.
Good luck :)
Unique foot tattoo designs?
ashlynn
I'm getting a tattoo on my foot and I want carpe diem written in kanji ( japanese writing). I also wanted a design to go along with it. I have seen a lot of stars, flowers, butterflies, hearts, etc. but I want something different and unique. I know only I can decide what I like, but does anyone know any other designs that I might be forgetting? My interests include life, love, medical stuff, fashion, animals. If anyone can think of a cool design related to those interests, let me know!
Answer
I think the common designs like those you mentioned can still be unique, you just have to find the right design...since you are doing the carpe diem, flowers like hibiscus and cherry blossom can complement that saying as well as shooting stars as they all suggest the same thing - seize the moment since life is short...
Butterfly....
What do you think of butterfly foot tattoo for guys?oot tatt?
Jay Nair
I have foot tattoos on both and I like it what do you think?
Answer
It's an insect. There's nothing particularly feminine or masculine about a bug. I don't understand why people think that. If the tattoo means something to you, even if it's just something you enjoy looking at, it perfectly a-ok. You said you like it and that's all that matters. I don't understand how having a tattoo of something makes you seem gay. Yes, tattoos are an expression of part of who you are, but if you have butterfly tattoos it's obviously at least a small part of you.
Why cant I pick a tattoo?
Natasha
I want a tattoo on my lower back really bad but I cant pick something that means something to me.. I want just a quotes or a quote and a picture, But I dont know what to get, Something that is special to me and means alot to me
Answer
You can't pick a tattoo because you aren't ready for one.
It's great that you know where you want to place a tattoo, but you seem to be the indecisive type who can't jump right in and get just anything and that's fine. I'm the same way. There are some people who get butterflies and hearts and stuff like that, but they tend to be the compulsive type or the ones who want a tattoo just so that they can say they have one (or because they think it's sexy).
A tattoo is going to be there for a long time. You need to find a design that you like and that actually means something to you.
You haven't come across something that means something special to you yet, but chances are you will eventually. Wait until that happens before you get a tattoo. You'll be happier with it, I promise.
If you want to speed up the process, just keep your eyes open. We discover new things every day. Some of those things become important and special to us and we carry them with us for the rest of our lives. Maybe you'll carry yours with you as a tattoo.
Who has gotten a Tattoo? Did it hurt you?
hazelshine
I have been wanting to get a Tattoo in my lower back but I am a little afraid. I think they are very sexy!! I got my eyebrows tattoo but wonder if it's the same pain or worst. Please let me know if and when you got your Tattoo did it hurt you? For how long was your skin hurtin for?
Answer
I have a butterfly tattooed on my lower back just above my butt....and you are right, it is very, very sexy! Just make sure it is what you want and can live with for a lifetime. I like butterflies so this was the right choice for me. As far as pain goes...it really wasn't that bad there. There is more flesh than say an ankle so it isn't going to hurt as bad. I found it to be uncomfortable but not unbearable and I didn't cry or anything. You said you had your eyebrows tattooed on...well I had my eyeliner permanently done. I can tell you that hurt 200% more than my lower back did. The eyelids have delicate skin and she had to cut them and make them bleed to get the ink deep enough to stay put. I love how it looks when it is done and I will do it again if I need to (maintenance). But my lower back felt like a tickle compared to my eyeliner. So, I am sure it is similar with your eye brows. Find a tattoo you really like and has a special meaning and then go for it. Be sure the person that does it is reputable and look at some of his prior work before letting them put anything on you. Good luck!
butterfly tattoos - meaning????
terry34por
I've seen countless women that have these butterfly tattoos on the small of their back usually or around the neck and shoulder area.
Is there any meaning to that or is it just something to look pretty?
Answer
Butterflies are extremely feminine!! And FREE!
I got my first tat a month ago and the artist was trying to talk me into a butterfly. I personally said no bc there are other meanings for it. ;}
I think for most girls it represents "girlie"! They are sooo cute too!
i need inner wrist henna tattoo ideas ?
Q. i need cute , girly inner wrist henna tattoo designs , you can post links
Answer
Go to Flickr and search under "henna" or "mehndi" for some amazing (mostly traditional) designs. Specify the wrist if you want, but designs are versatile and can be put anywhere. If you aren't into traditional designs, just pick a theme you like and do a Google image search (e.g. Stars or butterflies or whatever). The easiest designs to replicate will be those classified as "clip art" or "line drawing"... after typing your subject into the search field on the main Google page and clicking the "Images" link (top left of the window) you'll be able to specify this type of image via the menu on the left. Better yet, search for the subject you want plus the word henna or mehndi (e.g. "henna star" or "mehndi butterfly"). Good luck!
Help with my tattoo design! Beautiful Soul?
Nicollette
So I defiantly want to get the words Beautiful Soul tattooed on me, and I am looking forward to it being my first tattoo. I have already picked out the font but I want a little detail to it, instead of just words. But what goes with that phrase? I was thinking maybe 3 little silhouettes of birds in black, or maybe butterflies? I am really clueless as to what to do. Can anyone give me some good ideas or opinions? And also would it be stupid on my foot? Or should I get it on my wrist?
Answer
butterflies sound cute, or hearts... or you could get the chinese symbol for beautifulunderneath the words... http://www.chinese-symbols.com/b-chinese-symbol-for-beautiful
Tattoo design?
skom15
I'm 43 and am considering getting my first tattoo. I have a job that requires me to have a professional, conservative appearance, so it needs to be covered while at work - I'm thinking back or shoulder blade. I know what I don't want - no fairies, hearts, rainbows, butterflies, angels, or other "girly" things. I like eagles, but all the designs I see are very masculine and large. Any advice?
Answer
eagles are fairly 'manly' to begin with. so i think you'll be hard pressed to find anything more effeminate. but mainly, you shouldn't ask other people what kind of tattoo YOU should get. getting a tattoo is a pretty big choice that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. my advice is to take your time and be sure that's what you really want. and don't ask for other people's advice or approval about your choice of tattoo.
Tattoo's of women with blonde hair?
Faith gorg
So I was having a debate with a friend about whether there are actually any good tattoos out there picturing a person with blonde hair. I would love to see some example and hear some other opinions about this! :)
Answer
What style? Portrait? Pin-up? Cartoon? Different styles require different techniques, thus how they are coloured/shaded will be completely different.
A portrait is generally done in black and grey so blonde hair would generally be skin tone with ink as definition. I don't like the work in this tattoo, but it shows you how blonde would be done. http://www.zhippo.com/ChinaYZTattooHOSTED/images/gallery/Portrait_Butterfly_Tattoo_M.jpg
A colour version would use different shades along with skin tone like this http://www.remistattoo.com/gallery2/download-26453-4/women_portrait_tattoo.jpg
http://www.galleryoftattoosnow.com/CatTattooHOSTED2/images/gallery/medium/extra.JPG
In many respects it is no different to colouring/shading a drawing in pencil. You work with what you have, you either leave the hair untouched and use shading to give the effect of definition and lighting on blonde hair, or use use skin tone and different shades of colour.
We all will laugh at gilded butterflies?
I am looking at getting the full Shakespearean quote, if not this improvised one above tattooed on left shoulder blade (yes, similar to megan fox). I understand, for the most part, the meaning of the quote but I have no clue what play it's take from so I'd love to know that and if anyone could give a better definition of the quote as well that would be lovely!
Thankyou(:
Answer
romeo and Juliette maybe
lotus flower or butterfly tattoo?
ive been through alot of crap but im starting a new phase, like a fresh start and i want to get a tattoo to symbolize this, a small one on my neck the can easily be covered so what new u think, a lotus flower or a butterfly?
Answer
I'd go with the lotus.
Lotus tattoos and rose tattoos are without doubt the most popular floral tattoo designs among women. The lotus and rose are very similar. The lotus flower is held in great esteem in the East as the rose is admired in the West. Symbolically they can represent the same thing. As the lotus rises from the murky depths so does the rose grow amongst uninviting thorns.
The lotus flower actually originated in Egypt, and has had a major role in the local myths and legends. The ancient Egyptians revered the Nile water-lilies, or lotuses as they were also called. The Egyptian lotus is known for opening its flowers in the morning and then sinking beneath the water at dusk and like roses were used extensively at burials.
Lotus flowers are symbolic of rebirth in Eastern beliefs, but aside from the religious meaning, the lotus also symbolizes truth and enlightenment particularly to those of the Buddhist faith.
The modern interpretation of the lotus flower seems to be one of estranged love or new beginnings. Many people get lotus flower tattoos after the break-up of a relationship. This may mean that they have risen above the depths or alternatively may return back to it as the lotus returns to the pond.
But, just so you know, just as many women get lotus flowers as they get butterflies. I myself have a lotus flower, with my own meaning for getting it....but guess what else I have. LOL, a butterly as well.
A good place to have a tattoo?
chris
I want to get a butterfly tattoo (it's my first tattoo and it will be permanent). I know butterfly can be common but to me it symbolizes freedom, going far from your place and I'm planning to take a big step on this direction in a few months, so it means something to me. I want it in a place where it won't be visible so i was thinking low on my back on the right side. (The tattoo will be without colour and a small one) what do you think? I don't want it to be provocative...i just can't find any other place on my body that it won't be visible
Some butterfly tattoos?
Randommera
HI, I am going to get a butterfly tattoo on my hip/leg area, and though I do like some I have seen I haven`t fallen completely in love yet. I want several small ones flying up my leg. Any ideas? Thanks
Answer
Just be sure it's a design and location you can live with. Depending on your age you'll be looking at that tattoo for the next seventy years or more.
What should I get as a cover-up over a butterfly tattoo that is located on my lower right hip?
sunshine88
the butterfly tattoo is about 3 inches.
Answer
It is almost impossible to pre-design a cover up for something as detailed as a butterfly.
Your best bet is to go to all your local tattoo studios, study some of the artists work and find someone whose freehand work you like. Then give them free reign, most artists will tell you straight that they can't just stick something over the top of it, but if you do a little research first you could get a beautiful piece of art over it.
Lower hip should be an easier place to cover up though, lots of flowing lines that follow the contours of your hip and leg should camoflage pretty well. You could also consider getting it added to if you just want something different.
Your ideas on this tattoo design?
Ok in the past year I have lost A LOT of weight and it ended up turning into an eating disorder which I am not battling to overcome. In the end, I want to get a tattoo symbolizing my journey through it all. Here is my idea, this butterfly
http://www.tattoospot.com/r-free-butterfly-tattoo-designs-35-butterfly8-359.htm
turned the other way on my right shoulder, but I think I want the back end of one of the wings to be like bones or something to show how something broken turned into something beautiful. Then I want some kind of script which I haven't figured out yet.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Answer
While i fully understand your reasoning behind it I don't think this tattoo is the way to go. I'm just going to give my two cents and give you a few ideas and hopefully you like them. I'm just not sure that this idea is powerful enough to symbolize what you have overcome... at least not the way it is now.
Firstly, I totally get the meaning implied by the bones showing, however, butterflies don't have bones so it would not be a good representation of what youre trying to say. Also, butterflies are very over done tattoos and I don't know about you but I want a tattoo that nobody else has.
Maybe do a flower with a missing petal, or a sun with the clouds parting, or maybe you could get something in two parts like a little caterpillar on one wrist and then a butterfly on the other wrist. I mean even that butterfly idea would show you have come full circle. I'm not really sure about the picture part of the tattoo to be honest I just don't think a butterfly with bones is the way to go.
Here are some quotes you might like though:
-We can change our lives. We can do, have, and be exactly what we wish.
-We cannot become what we need to be, remaining what we are.
-To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.
-It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else's eyes.
-Whether you think you can or think you can't - you are right.
-What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
-If I am not for myself, who will be?
-I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship.
-Our faith in the present dies out long before our faith in the future
-Once you choose hope, anything's possible.
-Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark.
Tattoo fun, naming a tattoo of a girl?
Tristen
So I recently got a tattoo to add to my half sleeve. It's of a girl with the "day of the dead" features in her makeup. Under her eye she has a blue butterfly wing. I was playing around with some friends and we decided that I should give her a name.
I want something super cool and maybe a nice name with a little meaning behind it.
If you think of any, go ahead and list some name ideas. Thanks guys :)
what do u think of this butterflies tattoo? how many sessions/hours would it take to complete?
soleila
what do u think?
how many sessions/hours would it take to complete?
how much would it cost on average?
http://i34.tinypic.com/2rhu33l.jpg
Answer
I think it looks nice on her. But it looks like a memorial tattoo to me and she probably got it because it's something personal.
It would probably be over $500 and take AT LEAST five hours to do (only judging this because of my large tattoo).
I'd print off a copy of that pic and take it into the tattoo artist you choose (THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT!!!) and ask him/her to be sure.
I think you should get something more personal though. Just getting a bunch of butterflies because you like them may not be sucha good idea. Also, do you plan to have kids? They tattoo may stretch (I don't have a "tramp stamp" but I'm not getting one because I want to have kids at some point and I don't want to ruin a tattoo).
I moved my tattoo idea to my leg instead of my lower back and I'm glad I did because I love it. Maybe getting that tattoo would look nicer on your leg and it may be a better option for you too. :)
question about tattoo?
i'm thinking about getting some sort of tiger tattoo. i really love the butterfly tiger ones. but i'm not too fond of a butterfly. so could you please give me some other objects that you could do the tiger in? pictures would help so much.
Answer
You don't have to get it inside something. You could just get a tiger. Or you could get it on some sort of backdrop, like this:
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tejamovies.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Tiger-Tattoo-1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tejamovies.com/tiger-tattoo/&usg=__px92YzeeL4vSvUNMZxJvRJgQMkY=&h=530&w=340&sz=57&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=kKN6r4Tyep8VYM:&tbnh=180&tbnw=121&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtiger%2Btattoo%26hl%3Den%26gbv%3D2%26biw%3D1400%26bih%3D860%26output%3Dimages_json%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=272&vpy=62&dur=42&hovh=280&hovw=180&tx=127&ty=125&ei=nj_jTOX_KIWdlgff_9CEDg&oei=pD_jTKaPKYeglAfG4fj2DQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=34&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0
Or, pick some type of generic image (e.g. flame, rain drop, heart, flower...) or one that has meaning to you and your artist could probably draw a tiger in it. This one's a flame, it's kinda cool:
cute butterfly foot tattoos?
Coconut
does anyone know where i can see good pics?
iv tried looking on google but theres none that actually stand out to me
i would draw my own but im crap at drawing.
i like plain black tatoos with grey shading, but i dont mind a tiny bit of colour
i want one very pretty and not something with to much detail
Answer
there is no such thing as a cute butterfly tattoo. When you see a butterfly tattoo, aside from it being painfully generic and all too common, it typically means one of two things. No.1 - total flippin TRAMP. or No.2 Totally naive child's first tattoo.
The butterfly is a sign of a complete lack of creativity in the tattoo world, and most tattoo artist tense up and curl their toes when they have to do this... meaning they hate it, trust me.
If you must get a tattoo, THINK ABOUT IT, and get something that means something to you.
Why do people tattoo band names/logos on them?
Gardenfoot
I never understood it... I've seen guys with tattoos of Limp Bisket, Ja Rule, Korn, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Danzig, etc. (except for one guy that tattoo looked like the Danzig CD, but he only used the fonts for the design to pay homage to his pagan god.)
What are they a walking billboard for the band? It looks really stupid.
Also really stupid...
Sports teams
MMA fighters..
Not so stupid is when it has significance.
Answer
It depends what band you get tattooed and why, man. Led Zeppelin changed my life while listening to "The Ocean," just before I drove for the first time. It felt like I actually tasted freedom, and that one experience brought on my love of rock and roll. The same type of thing might have happened to someone else and they wanted to get it as a tattoo. That's one thing, but to have a ****** band like Limp Bizkit, Ja Rule, or KoRn on yourself is just plain tacky, man. Don't get me wrong, there are other EXCELLENT bands besides Zeppelin, but Limb Bizkit definitely isn't one of them. I don't have any tatoos, but if I did ever get one, I'm sure the ZoSo (and probably the other symbols) would be involved, because Jimmy Page IS the reason I play guitar, although there are others, like Hendrix and Frusciante who have inspired me equally, Pagey was the reason I got into it. That changed my life for good, man.
I see where you're coming from though, man. I wouldn't understand why anyone would actually get the name of a band in that particular font tattooed, but to incorporate a particular image, like the lady on the front of the first Black Sabbath album cover, or the Led Zeppelin runes, or something like that into a tattoo is something entirely different. One might get a screaming butterfly (not sure how to illustrate that, lol) in order to commemorate a defining lyric of an important song, "When the music's Over," for instance... or something like that. Anything with artistic merit is able to be accepted as a tatoo as far as I'm concerned, but if you have a ******* KISS tattoo or something, just go kill yourself... you know what I mean [sellouts].
Which lower back tattoo design is more sexy to you?
Chloe
I kno a lot of people think lower back tattoos are considered "tramp stamps" or means she's a slut ect.. but I really don't care cuz it's for my man's eyes only. Just choose which tattoo design you think is sexier & explain. Thankss : )
The other is a heart w/ a crown on top
w/ a skull on each side lookin down
Answer
Go with the heart and crown as I think it'll look great!
I have a lower back tat myself, a butterfly (surprise, surprise) which I got in University years ago. Didn't really care what others thought about it and I still love it! And no, I'm not a tramp as my fiancée thinks it looks pretty hot on me.
I also have five other tats that followed that first one and may go for my seventh soon.....leaning towards either a garter tat on my right leg or a bow on each of my hamstrings.
Best of luck and I think it'll look fabulous!
Opinions on this Butterfly tattoo?
What do you think of this tattoo?
I'm thinking about getting this done soon and I've been getting mixed reviews on it, my friends thinks it's to much and my boyfriend likes it.
I'm thinking of getting mine much smaller than that though
mrstomikaulitz - well I want it exactly like that pic , with the butterflies going in the same direction as pictured but on a much smaller scale
Answer
i hate butterflies and have a great dislike for butterfly tattoos. however, this one is very interesting and is growing on me the more i view it. i think it would look really beautiful if you had it on the same place of your back, and agree that at a smaller scale it would be more tasteful. in addition, i think you should ask your artist to either put some color in the wings of the butterflies or add some black/grey shading... to give it more depth, personality, and realism. it would also make the tattoo more your own and appear less that you copied someones tattoo, which is a really tacky and inconsiderate thing to do.
