Answer
Butterfly's make good tattoo's. I like that one but i would consider placing it on a different part of the body. Right in the middle of the thigh like in the picture is just so random. It looks like you drunkenly chose that place. Maybe on the back or a smaller one on the ankle. I have a tattoo on my ankle and i really love it there.

What flower goes with a butterfly tattoo?

angel g

I'm getting a pink butterfly tattoo on my birthday at the end of this month, and I'm looking for a pretty flower to go with it. I do not like roses. I was thinking about the cherry blossom flower but that's also pink and I just think the tattoo would be too much pink. The way the butterfly is positioned looks like it's landing on something (side view).

I was also thinking of putting some vines or swirls around the butterfly and flower.

Please let me know what you think or send me some pictures of good ideas for my tattoo.

I've googled and bing'd so much for the past week and I just cannot find any design I like.

Answer
What about Calla lilies which has many colors but I would white or pink (its mixed with white so not totally pink)

Pink daisy, just get one with different shade of pink from the butterfly
http://fineartamerica.com/images-medium/pink-daisy-with-raindrops-carol-groecar.jpg

Or a pink Zinnia

Actually orange flower should be nice with pink butterfly if you like it. Imagine the flower is orange and the butterfly is pink
http://www.aefraser.com/blog/july08/orange_butterfly_4.jpg

Otherwise a blue Iris should be nice with pink too.

I don't which position of the flower will be the best because I didn't get to see the butterfly and I am not a tattooist so better that you discuss with him/her when you made up your mind on the flower to do.

cute butterfly foot tattoos?

Coconut

does anyone know where i can see good pics?
iv tried looking on google but theres none that actually stand out to me
i would draw my own but im crap at drawing.
i like plain black tatoos with grey shading, but i dont mind a tiny bit of colour
i want one very pretty and not something with to much detail

Answer
there is no such thing as a cute butterfly tattoo. When you see a butterfly tattoo, aside from it being painfully generic and all too common, it typically means one of two things. No.1 - total flippin TRAMP. or No.2 Totally naive child's first tattoo.

The butterfly is a sign of a complete lack of creativity in the tattoo world, and most tattoo artist tense up and curl their toes when they have to do this... meaning they hate it, trust me.

If you must get a tattoo, THINK ABOUT IT, and get something that means something to you.

What color should I do for my butterfly tattoo?

I just got an awesome butterfly tattoo on my hip/love handle. It's about six inches wide and so far looks amazing, We've got the outline and the black filled in. I haven't put any colors on it yet and am not sure which colors would look best.

I think a light pink to Lavender would be pretty but have also seen some bright blue and teal ones that look cool?

I need suggestions..:)

Answer
Black is the most bold for tattoos, anything else appears faded.
But of course it is up to you, pink sounds really nice! You could have a mixture of different colours too =)

Can I change the purple spots in my tattoo with orange tattoo ink?

Allie

More or less I'm wondering if orange will cover purple. If not, what colors will work. I have a blue and purple butterfly tattoo that I would like to be blue and orange now so I can add on to it.

Answer
A lighter color generally will not provide good coverage for a darker color. As the pigment settles the colors will sort of merge and darker color will still show through, perhaps just a little lighter, however mixing purple and orange could potentially give off a sort of brownish look.

So, pretty much no, a 'cover up' works best with a color that is darker than the original color.

im planning on getting 3 small (about 1 1/2 - 2 in. in diameter) butterfly tattoos my torso. im thinking of simply sticking to black, but i would like to have greens and purples if possible.
your time is valued, thanks!

Answer
Maybe think about just getting a black and gray tattoo. I know it doesn't sound like much, but in the long run - often times they look better on your skin tone. You're lucky to have such pretty skin, and with a color tattoo, the color will show up, because the ink soaks into your skin, but a black tattoo would show up and look nicer and fresher.

If you really want to go with color, I think red would be one that would show up pretty good.

How are female tattoos percieved in Uganda? and information about the tattoo healing process?

satinegirl

Hey looking to get a small butterfly tattoo on my upper back and i was wondering how this would be percievec. also how long will the healing process take? as i want to make sure its not gonna get infected whilst im in uganda, and will the sun cause problems as obviously i will be sweating?
oh and it will be black and white

Answer
Two weeks is the usual healing amount of time. It should not get wet ( except showering and even then the artists usually advise that you don't just stand with it directly under the water and saturate it ) and this includes sweat, any time your new tattoo is healing you should shower as soon as you can to wash away any bacteria. Remember, a tattoo is an open wound, so treat it like one. Keep it moisturized with lotion that contains no dyes or fragrances, do just as your artist tells you to do. Don't over moisturize otherwise the tat won't be able to breath. Also, yes sun causes the tattoo damage. It can fade the colors on even old ones, and if it's still healing it could cause the ink to lift. Wait until the tattoo is fully healed before swimming or tanning or anything. Always wear at least an SPF of 50 on your tattoo even after it's healed to prevent sun damage to the colors. Anything you do during the healing process can affect the final result of the tattoo which will last a liftetime so be very careful!

trying to find a good lower back tattoo?

Mrs. Hutto

I want something girly. I have searched google and can't find anything. I already have a butterfly tattoo so I don't want another. I really like peace signs and stars. Thanks in advance.

Answer
You could always go to local shop and tell them your likes ie the peace sign, stars, certain colors, squiggles, dots, ect and see what he/she comes up with. I do not know if a shop charges for that.

How bad does a lower back tattoo hurt?

Helloo . So I have been wanting to get a butterfly tattoo (colored) on my lower back for a long time... And might get it done tomorrow. How bad does it hurt? And also whats the least painful spot to get one?

Answer
Anywhere that is more "fleshy" or where it's not directly on top of bone (Example: ribs) are more likely to hurt less, but you'll still feel "pain" or the tattoo needle on your skin regardless of where you'll get it. Arms and legs (depending exactly where) will usually hurt less--for most people. Places like ribs and feet will hurt more. White ink is also supposed to hurt more than colored or black ink.

Lower back tattoos aren't that bad...but that's really hard to say because I don't know your pain tolerance.

How much does a medium-sized butterfly tattoo usually cost?

chocolateh

If you're wondering where I want it, it's going to be somewhere on my back between my shoulder blades. Also, I'd like to have my butterfly tattoo to be the colors of black and blue.

Answer
Depends on who does it, really. I've paid $90 for a simple, very small one (slightly larger than a quarter)...and $200 for one larger than my hand with multiple colors. Nobody here can tell you what someone in your area will charge. There are no standard rates, sorry.
