well are you looking for positive change? It might be a little girly for you but you could do a caterpillar to a butterfly. You could always make the butterfly looks bad-a w/ fangs or red eyes or something. You could go from a tadpole to a frog.... idk those were just the first two that came to me. A rose opening, but that might be too girly too. idk haha I'm pulling ideas out of thin air. sry.

You don't need to look for existing tattoos. You don't need to go to tattoo sites.
You should find any images, from any source, that appeals to you. You can draw something, you can take photos, find pictures, look in scrapbooks, the library, the net, look to nature, look in magazines, look in art books.
Find something that you haven't already seen in a tattoo. Then add to it, adjust it, put your own colors in it, put personal images, symbols, stuff from your thoughts, your dreams, etc.
Then take everything that you like - maybe a little from this, and a little from that - and go to your tattooist (licensed, reputable, and an artist whose work you like), and let him/her work out a custom tattoo design.
You say that you have looked, these are not uncommon images, ... so give it another try, and try to see through different eyes.

Butterflys...a sign of???

Ever since I've been going out with my boyfriend, I've been seeing a butterfly everyday at the same time...1:37pm. Even if I'm at work, I'l be taking out trash or sweeping and a monarch will breeze right by me. If I'm at school I'll unintentionally go to the bathroom and I'll look out the window and there will be a butterfly flying by. It's a lil weird. If me and my boyfriend have a fight, I won't see one. I wanna know what it means lol. Help me haha

What does a butterfly symbolize? The butterfly is a symbol of transformation or change, love and joy.

It represents beauty, changes, taking flight, simplicity and peace. At first, its an ugly catepillar and no one will give it a second look. But with time and dedication, it becomes something marvelous to the human eye. It's a natural wonder.

Why do so many people say a tattoo on a woman has to be feminine and small to be sexy?

Because they are stupid. Personally, I wouldnt even want a "sexy" tattoo anyway- what the hell constitutes for a sexy tattoo?! A butterfly? How the f u c k is a butterfly sexy. I don't know. Who cares about sexy? I love the art in tattoos, and the stories behind them (although i feel aesthetics are a good enough reason to get a tattoo) and personally I cant even imagine what a sexy tattoo looks like lol. I love sleeves too, theres something about them thats just really...well, just great. I wouldnt get sleeves because they wouldn't suit me, but i cant see why a sleeve couldnt be as "sexy" as a small tattoo. Its all in the eye of the beholder. Some people talk utter boll o c ks to be precise, and those people should be ignored. -_-

What book have you read that had the weirdest concept?

I read a book (of course, I can't remember the title or famous author) that was supposed to have been a suspense novel, but turned out to be mixed with the "butterfly theory" and "chaos theory." Within the first four pages, a newly-wed husband pushes his new wife over the railing onto the rocks, below, while hiking just because he had a strong urge to do so. He spent the rest of the book killing or hurting random people just to see if he could get away with it again. Meanwhile, in another place, a baby boy is born who has extraordinary eyes. Not that it mattered, b/c he ended up losing both of his eyes to some kind of viral infection. He then developed the ability to go thru different dimensions. When it was pouring rain outside, he could walk between the raindrops and stay dry. Also being able to go into alternate universes, he pushed the killer into an alt. universe to get him off the earth. It was a very weird book that I forced myself to read to broaden my horizons. How about you?

House of Leaves, by Mark Z. Danielewski.

The easiest way I can describe it, is that it's the story of a house that's 1 inch larger on the inside, than it is on the outside (impossible, in case you're wondering why that's so weird). Alternately it follows the main character, Johnny Truant, who works in a tattoo parlor. Johnny has a blind neighbor in his apartment complex that dies, and Johnny finds this man's notes and diaries, which all seem to reference a documentary about this strange impossible house. However, as far as Johnny can tell, the documentary does not, and never did, exist. So, through the use of footnotes, alternations between Johnny's story as he investigates the authenticity of his neighbor's notes and the notes about the documentary themselves, correspondence between Johnny and his mother who is in a mental hospital, the story about the House unfolds, sometimes yielding pages that contain only photographs, or a single word, or a paragraph that spirals away from the center of the page.

It's worth reading, even if in the end you chalk it up as "gimmicky", but if you're like me, it'll join the ranks of your favorite books.

For extra fun, download or purchase the album "Haunted" by Poe. The songs are closely related to the book (Poe is Mark's sister), and the song "Hey, Pretty", is actually a word for word reading of one of the book's chapters by Mark Z. himself.

I have been wanting a tattoo similar to Sahar from the Real World New Orelans and Elina from ANTM cycle 11. I think it looks delicate and feminine, but I don't know if it will always look good. What do you think?

I think their tattoos are really good and they will always look good. But I would like to recommend you some other tattoo designs because tattoo designs must be unique, you don't need to copy their tattoo. If you are looking for some feminine & delicate tattoo designs then in my view butterfly and fairy look good on arms. Let's see on this girl having a wonderful tattoos of butterfly on her arm. we think Both women and butterflies have wonderful, curvy forms. They both have delicate, soft texture and are very pleasing to the eye. Tattoo of butterflies can be any size is also important.

I am looking for ideas for a lower back tattoo?

I dont like anything girlie even though i am a girl. All my tats are very manly and tough. But i do want something very sexy on my lower back. I dont like tribal stuff. It have no meaning and it is too simple. I dont like butterflies either and thats what girls mainly get on their lower back. I want something more "animalish". Some leopard stuff, cat paws something. I just dont know what to put together. I have an artist that will draw my idea but i cant get it together. Any suggestions or ideas?
Now mind you I am not trying to scare my man everytime he is behind me if you know what i mean so no i am not looking for anything creapy like skulls, besides its not the manly and tough i was considering. Put it this way what i consider manly and tough happened to be my first tattoo i got while i was already in service and it is desert eagle .50 cal pistol on my shoulder blade. Maybe this helps to give me a little bit different ideas with this kind of tough and manly outlook.....

Maybe you could do an Angelina Jolie and have a claw mark going accross your lower back, so it looks like you have survived a tiger gauging you. Or perhaps on a cuter note, some cool animal paw prints going in a trail up/accross your back. I personally reckon a sexy jungle animal, like a cougar or lynx, some sort of wild cat would be cool, like maybe you could have cool intense cat eyes or something wicked on your lower back. I'm not sure how exactly my idea would be made but I hope it helps.
