Tattoo art is called flash so if you type "flash" into google images, you'll get a ton of stuff. However, you might get something you like better if you have someone draw you something personal. Tattoo artists do that all the time. One of my best friends is a tattoo artist. People come in saying things like "Uh... I want something sort of like a bird or maybe a butterfly and maybe red or something..." and after a few minutes of talking to them she can draw a picture they're all about. Just go into the parlor and talk. Or get in touch with the answerer who wants to draw it for you. Another option is to just browse parlors. Every tattoo shop has flash on its walls and binders full of photos of tats the employees there have actually done. That also lets you see who does the kind of quality work that you'll want on your body forever.

Tattoos that are just curvy outlines and very simple of hearts, butterflies, people or whatever? I like really simple and very small tattoos.

Any tattoo shop should have flash art on their walls that are like that. Just make sure that the tattooer is good at doing steady curvy lines.

Getting a tattoo in korean?

Alright I am half Korean. Meaning my mom is, but my dad isn't.

I was thinking about getting a tattoo in Korean. I know it's right when it's wrote out now, but how hard is it to actually find a tattoo artist to correctly do a tattoo such as this? I don't want it all messed up since it's not some normal tattoo in english or just some picture.

I was thinking of maybe getting it straight down my ribs or maybe back? What do you recommend? It would be my full name possibly if I do this particular idea. Don't say anything about pain or how bad tattoos are or none of that nonsense. I want serious answers

Also what could go around a tattoo such as this like a vine outline or whatever? Plus i'm a guy if that matters

Just get your mother to draw it out the size you want it or at least a size that clearly shows the detail of any text. Any good tattooist will either re-draw or simply copy off suitable flash.

As for wrapping vines that's up to you. Add a few ladybirds and some butterflies if you want. Or go for some way off the scale strange Korean art form that matches the text. I'd do some research on Korean art and see what goes or start with just the text and add at a later date.

A quick look at Google and I see Korean art looks very Japanese (after a quick look, I'm no expert). Wispy bamboo etc. Go have a look and start a few drawings yourself... Run off some photocopies from your mums original and spend some time developing an idea...

I have two skulls with bows on them on my chest. Love them, girls without being too girly.

Have you tried going to a tat site that specializes in flash art? You can get really good ideas from those. Print out different images of things you like and get the tattoo artist to draw something up incorporating those.

Im sick of the played out tattoos as well but since I don't know what is meaningful for you I can't really give any great suggustions other than no butterflies, no nautrical stars, no lotus flowers.

I found it once, but I wasn't ready to get a tattoo then + that shop has since closed. I have looked thru several sites, but haven't found it yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to a shop that you have done some "homework" on and ask the artist (the one you would like to do your piece) to design an original piece of art for you. You would feel so much better knowing that your tattoo is an original. Yes, it can have some aspects of the other tattoo you saw in the other shop, but ultimately,........ having one that is a custom piece feels very different than having some flash put on you. I've died twice and the doctors revived me. I want a tattoo of something symbolic, something thats a means either: survivor, maybe something higher is looking watching over me.

All without tattooing an angel or the resurrection.

Maybe something like a butterfly? A butterfly is a symbol of resurrection.
It's born as a Caterpillar, then cocoons itself, then becomes a butterfly.

Maybe have a butterfly breaking from its cocoon? That's a bit more different. Maybe you could get someone you know of that does art to draw you something like this. The links below (in sources) are the best pictures I could find to illustrate what I'm thinking.

I'm 20, got my first tatt when I was 18, and it is a butterfly on my ankle. I hate it because I got it while I was tripping on mushrooms.

My advice to you is to take the time out to really consider what you want. Don't just walk into a parlor and pick out some flash art! And really research tattoo artists in your area, look through portfolios, ask random people with nice tattoos where they got theirs and if they liked the shop.

Also, get it while you're sober..
