I want a tattoo on my hand, how badly will it hurt?

I want this butterfly tattoo (the one on the far left of the picture) on my hand, kind of like the spot where Khole Kardashian got her husband's initials. I want it a little bit smaller and a little further up my hand though (not so much in the web of my hand).

Serious answers please. I know it'll hurt and I'll prolly take advil before I go, but I just want to know if anyone has any personal experiences or advice they'd like to share. :D

It shouldn't hurt at all. There are no bones there and it's all skin that is exposed to sun an use every day so that means that more than likely, you won't feel that much pain. This would probably take about 10-15 minutes if that. I suggest you do what I do every time I get a tattoo. Bring your ipod and listen to your favorite music that gets you pumped while you are doing it. Trust me, it'll be over before you know it. Tattoo pain, for me anyway, is like a repetitive scratching of the same spot. Being that you won't get it filled with color since it is just an outline it shouldn't bother you that much at all.

By the way, I think that would look beautiful. Very delicate =)

Getting a tattoo of either the corpse bride butterfly or the four elements on my feet?

Q. So I've been contemplating a while on getting a tattoo, and I think I want one on my feet. Before I was thinking I could get the corpse bride butterfly on my foot to signify love after death. Maybe have the words from the Death Cab for Cutie song "I will follow you into the dark" by it.

not necessarily all 3Dish like that, but still the same basic designs. These would signify balance in my life, a reminder to be flexible (water) yet sturdy (earth), passionate(fire) and optimistic (air). I was thinking I could get two on one the side of one foot and the other two on the opposite side of my other foot.
Is this idea lame? Which tattoo should I go for? All opinions are appreciated. If it sounds retarded, tell me. If it sounds great, tell me that too. I like both of these ideas, but I'm asking because I want other opinions so I don't regret these tattoos later.

i like the corpse bride butterfly eben though a lot of girls have had it your making it your own and that important also, love after death is a huge thing i think you wouldn't get old of it because it could really help you emotionally.

Tattoo ideas help! please?

I am a teenage girl and I want some help picking out my tattoo. I am positive that I want one and can't get it for another month but I really want to know what I am getting ahead of time. I want something sexy, and cute, but not too overly seductive.(no naked girls, my parents would kill me) I am getting it either below my bellybutton on either side or on my lower back. I don't want anything too over done like birds(you see those everywhere), but something original. If you have any ideas thanks :)
I really like that tree idea. I have no clue why but I think I want to get a small tree going up my back with a kiwi bird in it. (even tho kiwi birds are flightless and most likely don't live in trees..) Haha. I still want that. Thanks a million to all who answered. :)
I like the fairy and dragon ideas as well! I heard somewhere tho that dragon tattoos were bad luck or something. Idk. I like that idea anyways. And heres some tid-bits about me:
I love animals, hot girls, rainbows(lol), jewelry, piercings, tattoos, flowers, the color red, trees, nature, fairies, hearts, stars, originality, candy beads, and just sticking out rather than blending in. :)

OMG those side - tattoos and lower back tattoos are awesome! You know the regular tribal designs they do for lower back, right? (If you don't, here're a few examples: http://www.tattoodesignsus.com/images/tribal-tattoo-designs.gif) I got my mother's name in Chinese letters tattooed to my lower back, with tribal designs like that at the sides of the writing. That's a cool idea in my opinion, you might wanna try something like that.
Something including butterflies would be very cute - but I guess that fits into the over-done category. tho you could get a uniquely designed butterfly!

First off, nothing is cheesy for a tattoo, if it is personal, well thought out, you love it, and you make it as high of quality with a skilled tattoo artist, that you can. Then do excellent care during healing and for life.
It is yours, and your personal choice, having nothing to do with fad, other's opinion, etc. Your body.

Now, as to your ideas: all of them are fine and can be turned into great tattoos ... or 'cheesy' tattoos, .. depending on the image, and who does the work.

So, your star sign, don't chose common images and designs. Find unique artwork of your sign, or have it done simply, but by someone you love and have it copied, or design it yourself, or take your idea and images that appeal to you to your skilled and experienced tattoo artist, and have him/her draw up a custom design for your approval.

I would never get such a tiny tattoo on such a big area of your body!!! take advantage of all the space you have and get something worth it. otherwise..butterfly is very tacky..sorry. try and find something a bit more original, design your own butterfly maybe or add something to it.
