Matching tattoos for five..?

Q. Mmmkay, so I need some good ideas.. no pineapples please.. for a tattoo or series of tattoos that my four closest friends and I could get. I don't want butterflies and flowers and ribbons and shit.. I want something that has meaning, something unique.
Also, it would be for three girls and two guys.. so it's going to need to be something flexible.
Any ideas would be awesome!!

Answer
I would just try to reflect on something that's specific to you guys. Any inside jokes? Something meaningful you guys can all recognize? A favorite movie? Just anything. Find common ground on something and then go from there. Or you could ask the tattoo artist to draw you up something. I know 3 girls who got the same tattoo together, and the artist drew them up a clover with hearts on it. It's hard to describe, but it looks pretty cool and it's definitely unique.

should i get this tattoo? please answer!?

its of a peguin butterfly cartoon tattoo. thinking of doing it small like on the inside of my wrist about 3 x 3 or where else would be a good spot for it.

the whole idea of this tattoo started out as a joke when i was getting a tat the other day; now i cant get it out of my head

. so now to my question do you think that all tattoos have to mean something? i did until this happened. do you think it would be a good tattoo? whats a good spot for it?

please dont just read this; please post your opinion i really need advice!
thanks
ps alittle bit about how i look:
bright purple hair with black underneath; eyebrow pierced, short, and have 3 tats already

im a sahm so i dont have to cover anything up for work; going to school for cosmotology so wont have to cover anything for my job either.

Answer
Oh dear. I think if you get that tattoo you will live to regret it. Most people have tattoos that mean something to them. All this tattoo seems to mean is nonconformity because it isn't like tattoo art.

What tattoo?

Chrissy

I have a shamrock of my foot, butterfly on my neck. I want a back tattoo but I do not know what to get. My father and I have a running joke about my tattoos stating good luck and God speed. I thought I would run w/the theme and get something meaning prosperity. What tattoo symbolizing prosperity should I get on my back?

Answer
You should get butterfly wings that cover almost your entire back. Real colorful and bright. It would go with your neck.

Tattoo question!?

Rach

I'm 17 years old and have wanted a tattoo for some time now. I've drawn a few out, and even drawn them in sharpie on myself to see if I would like them on my body. I'm still not sure if it's a good decision though, as tattoos have become really common and meaningless for a lot of people. All of my tattoos will have some meaning behind them- I won't just get a bunch of stars or a butterfly because it looks pretty. So if anyone has any opinions about getting inked, or any stories about your own tattoos it would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
I have one tattoo that I got last year when I was 20; the idea of me getting it kind of grew out of a joke, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks that I actually seriously wanted to get it. I'm a big music dork and it's of musical notes in a certain rhythm used by a favourite composer of mine to end some of his pieces. I set a date and contemplated location for a while before settling on between my boobs because I wanted it centered and on the front of my torso...so stomach? Nah. Too worried when I eventually get pregnant it'll stretch and look awful. Collar bone-ish? Nah. So I went for between the boobs figuring no one would ever have to see it unless I meant for them to...

...or so I thought. Turns out I wear lower cut shirts than I ever thought I did, not to mention that I'm short and apparently any tall person can look down into my shirt unless I wear a turtleneck. I've run into trouble in all sorts of places, from my parents just being ashamed, my boyfriend's parents thinking I'm a whore, and just having a difficult time trying to be classy when most gowns and such cut low enough that it's seen. But in all honesty, I still don't have any regrets about having gotten it done. People come and go but I'll still love Rachmaninoff and his music and know how that's inspired my path in life. If people are going to jump to conclusions about it, whatever, it doesn't change who I am.

So even though a lot of people might be quick to say you're too young, I think the fact that you've put so much thought into it matters a great deal. You definitely take it seriously and if it's something you truly feel is right for you, I say go for it. Just also take a lot of things into consideration; for example, I contemplated for a while getting a portrait of Beethoven on my bikini line before deciding it would take a very special soul to appreciate that later in life and marry me. :P But on a more serious note, I also contemplated putting my tattoo on one of my shoulders, but as a classical violinist, that probably wouldn't work too well in formal performances. (But when it comes down to it, there's definitely good makeup out there that can do a good cover up job!)

So yes. It sounds to me like your heart is in it, so do what feels right to you and don't let any opinions sway you other than your own. I feel that even if you get backlash for it, as long as you're firm in your feelings towards it, it won't matter in the long run. Good luck!

I want to get a tattoo on my?

Sally Toma

derriere. What's a good one for that special area? I was thinking (as a joke) a back door. Or maybe (another joke) a piece of poop. Would men find that sexy since it's not real poop, just a picture?

What are some other good ideas, both funny or serious? I'm up for whatever.

do tattoos have to mean something?

ok so heres the story:
i was getting my beauty and beast rose tattoo yesterday well theres a butterfly on the vase to tie it into my chest piece. when my tat artist typed in butterflys we found that clip art, and they kept joking that they were going to put that on me. it was a good laugh; i even said that i could see some teenage girl getting it just cuz it was cute (they are in a mall so have teenagers come in all the time just to get tattoos that mean nothing) some even come in a few months later for a cover up(long running joke in store) but as i got home i kept thinking of that lil penguin butterfly, looked it up and even showed it to my husband who instantly fell in love and said to get it done. so now im actually thinking of doing it.

i dont rush into anything so even for this i will wait at least 2 months before getting it to make sure my feelings dont change. so now to my question do you think that all tattoos have to mean something? i did until this happened. do you think it would be a good tattoo? whats a good spot for it?
thanks

Answer
Because you have three tattoos that mean something, I think you can get one without it meaning something/

I want to get a tattoo in a few months but I need it in a place where my parents will never know I have one. (They would kill me. Not even joking haha) I don't like tramp stamps...not to mention that I might be wearing a bathing suit around the rents. Any creative spots?
I'm about to turn 18. Since my age was brought into question. I just want a small one.

Answer
Ok, how about getting ur name inside ur lower lip? I have my name
there, Dee, and have had it many years, and people get such a kick
out of it WHEN I show it to whoever! Just an idea, bc I love mine!

Then, instead, you can get a small one like a heart or butterfly, and
put it on ur lower front side of ur hip...another one of my very first ones.
Another place where you would have to get completely undressed for
someone to see it.

Then, there is always the back of ur neck. Just some suggestions.
Hope it helps and good luck.

Ideas for what to put in a care package for someone with cancer? (read the description)?

That Girl

I'm 15 and I recently found out that my aunt (she's not really my aunt but I just call her that because she has always been like one) has breast cancer. I have been really upset about it lately because she is one of my most favorite people in the world and it is so hard to comprehend the fact that she has cancer. I want to send her a care package soon because I think it would cheer her up and make her feel a little better and I just want her to know how much she means to me. To give you an idea of what she's like, she is around 60 but acts so much younger, and she is the funniest person I have ever met. She acts soooo crazy sometimes but everyone loves her. She is a counselor at an elementary school and we have all these really funny inside jokes and she is just one of those people that I love dearly. I want to give her a lot of homemade stuff, like I was thinking of making her some rosewater and making her a picture frame with a picture of us in it, but I was also thinking of buying her some really nice chocolates (she LOVES sweets), funny movies to make her laugh, maybe a blanket, etc., but I need some more ideas and was wondering if anybody could give me any. Thank you so much for everyone who helps me with this, I appreciate it so much <3

Answer
My daughter was your age when I was diagnosed with my cancer and she gave me the best presents, because she put so much thought into my personality.

The soft blanket/throw/shawl is always a good idea. Try adding a note "A hug for when I can't be there" or something like that.

The photo in a frame is also a great idea.

If she is having chemo, it can screw with your taste buds so food of any sort is very individual and usually very different from the usual favorites.

Funny movies are great.

Rosewater might be the perfect scent to get rid of "hospital" smells that seem t stick in your nose.

If she is losing hair, she sounds like she may enjoy "silly hats" make sure they are soft on the inside.

My daughter also found me outrageous "temporary tattoos" to stick on my bald head. Butterflys, rainbows, flowers, etc. I changed them every few days.

Eyeshadows. In brght colours. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup but without eyelashes, or eyebrows my eyes looked naked so I spent the time I would usually spend on hair doing eye makeup instead. New ones ere good in case there was any contamination in my old ones.

Unscented hand/body lotion is great. Hospitals can make your skin dry and other patients can be anoyed by strong scents so unscented lotions are good.
