Tattoo color faded after one week?

I got my second tattoo a week ago on my finger and its a butterfly. My tattoo is in its peeling stage and the color is completely gone from it because it all peeled off and the black is really light and looks like its an old tattoo or something. When I first got it it was gorgeous. I know how to take care of a tattoo, so I don't know why this happened. What should I do? Help please. ]:

The finger is an extremely difficult place to get a good tattoo. There is so little skin it is hard to pass the epidermis. The artist didn't inject the proper depth, and the ink never made it down to the dermis. If you go back and raise hell I'm sure they'll redo it (right) for free. And be sure to properly care for it. Stay out of sunlight and avoid touching it. Hope this helps!

I want a tattoo with the color pink for the butterfly. I know someone who has one with red and even though it is only a few years old, the red has complete disappeared. Why is this? And should I be concerned with the same happening when using the color pink?

i've got pink in my tattoo. it's still really bright 4 years on! hers shouldnt have disappeared..maybe she didnt look after it properly as it was healing? you can always get the colour redone in a few years if it fades a bit but any colour will fade no matter what you choose. it should take a lot longer than a few years though.

get pink if you want it, its on your body for life so you need to like the tattoo. ask the tattooist if you're worried. but they will probably just say the same as me. but from my experience mine is absolutely fine!

Tattoo Redone and Getting a New One.?

I am getting a butterfly and pancreatic cancer ribbon tattoo redone on my upper thigh.
At the same time, I plan on getting a butterfly on my shoulder blade.
My questions are:
1. Compare the pain of the upper thigh tattoo to the shoulder blade tattoo. Some people say none, some say terrible.
2. I had this butterfly done in Fall of 2010. I think it was my fault that it got messed up. Therefore, I am paying for it to be fixed. It is only missing color in a few spots. How will he re do it? Will he color the whole thing back in or just fill in the missing spots? I plan on wearing dresses and not letting anything touch this tattoo so that it will heal correctly!
3. Is there anything else I need to know? Fill me in please!

I have a damsel fly on back of my shoulder, got it when a mate of mine died of AIDS, I was in Gibralter at the time, and it faded in a few places due to sun exposure.

When I got back to UK, I had it 'retouched' the artist completly reworked the whole thing, and it looks much better for it even now, ten years later.

I want to get a tattoo, well two. I want to get the quotes : "que sera sera" and "carpe diem" tattooed. I just don't know where. I'm worried that if I do get it and I either gain weight or get pregnant the tattoo will look awful. First: where should I get these tattoos? Second: Will the turn ugly or deformed? ALL tattoos fade and blur over time. After 10 years, most tattoos need to be redone or touched-up to make them look good again. Letting and words on the skin are more likley to look bad over time, then a picture of a butterfly or something like that, because words have hard edge lines that blur to obscure what they are.

YES, gaining weight or getting pregnant will alter the look of a tattoo, but it wont usually make it look really really bad unless the artist places it in the wrong spot. What makes a tattoo look bad is if it is not done by an artist smart enough to realize that the tattoo has to stand the test of time or if they do not have enough experiences to know that women get stretch marks in specific places after pregnancy. This is usually what happens when people are tattooed by artists that are not well trained or that give them "cheap" tattoo rates. You get what you pay for.

A lot of it depends on where YOU want to have the tattoo done. Do you want it to show easily, or hide easily? If you want it to hide easily, you need to have it done on areas you normally keep covered with clothing. If you don't mind people seeing it, then you can get it done anywhere. The truth is there are VERY FEW spots that wont be affected by the gaining or loss of weight. The calf, mid back, and forearms are about the only spots that don't change a lot when you gain or lose weight. Any place you might get stretchmarks is more likely to to also end up with an alteration in the look of the tattoo.

If you consult with your artist and tell him about your concerns, he can actually LOOK at your body and tell you where on it might be a good idea to have your tattoo done. Seeing your body is the key, because it will let the artist know where you have space for words to fit. I suggest you go with a smaller lighter lined lettering if you want to make sure it doesn't turn into a blob of illegible words 15 years from now.

you can.
i know for sure you can if the color that you want to go over with with, is darker then the original.
but as for it being a different shade/ or something, then you might wanna talk to the person who did it. maybe they can figure something out for you.
you might have to keep going in to get it re-done in the spot, so it'll be darker. that's what i would assume.<3

I have a butterfly tat on my back and i had the blue retouched. It was actually pretty painful. There is a pulling sensation of the 3 prong needle. I also had a heart on my hip that i had turned into another butterfly and they used the large needle on that one and it burned more than anything. The tat needles are going through scar tissue ( all tats after they heal are scar tissue) thats why its a different sensation. Its definately different and i think it hurts a little more.

What matching tattoos should my best friend and I get?

Also where on our bodies should we get them? Some where that they could be seen but maybe could be covered if needed.

I have three tattoos, and the funny thing is the plain girly ones, (one's a heart, the other a butterfly) are the ones I like and am glad I have. The creative larger tattoo is something I wish I had never done. So my suggestion would be go with something plain and cute, a heart or a little trail of stars or something like that. As far as where, I think any place but the arms or the shins, which I think looks tacky. (No offense to anybody with tattoos in those spots, just my opinion!!) The ankle I think is cute, feet are cute but they wear out and you have to get them redone all the time, my sister has a really beautiful one on her upper chest (not breast) that I would never do but actually turned out very pretty. I'm afraid that if I get a small tattoo on my back it will become deformed, will it or will it become larger?

I have had a small(2 in by 3 in) tattoo of a butterfly on my left shoulder for over 35 years and one on my forearm. Have gained and lost weight, been active and a couch potato. The tattoo has never deformed nor has it changed shape. The color faded and had to be redone twice now but that is all. It faded because my skin is very acidic and I have problems with jewelry, tattoos and such. The only problem I have had is when I had to have stomach surgery and the incision went right through another tat so the doctor just removed the whole thing so it wouldn't look wierd.
My Dad had well over a dozen all over his body and they never changed or became ugly. I want to be the old lady in the nursing home with the tattooed body that everyone goes to see.

Is this a good way to make a genric tattoo special/unique?

Q. Iâve been wanting a generic butterfly tattoo on my chest near my collarbone, but I wanted to make it somewhat unique, my mother isnât an artist but I thought Iâd get her to just one try no washing off and redoing, have her draw one on me and have the tattoo artist make it permanent.

whatever you feel looks good girlie. but yeah if it is drawn by someone (especially someone you know) then it is one of a kind and not quite as generic. ;) go with your gut!

I got a tattoo a year ago and it got infected really bad so I decided to get I fixed before summer comes , I got 3 butterflies one pink one purple one blue .. the pink one is turning btown, the purple is fine and the blue looks like the color is coming out. Go to other shops and get their opinions on why it is doing it. If there is any hint that you improperly cared for it: live with it or get it fixed. If it is because the shop didn't do something right and that is the only option; then go back to the shop that did it and ask for it to be redone, or live with it.

It is very possible that you are allergic to the inks that were used. You didn't say where they are located, but if they are in an area where you get full sun quite frequently, you may be experiencing some issues due to the ink reacting with bright sunlight. Keep in mind, inks are not regulated for use in tattoos. So there could be anything that is used and it may or may not be suitable for tattooing.
