Tattoo design?

I'm 43 and am considering getting my first tattoo. I have a job that requires me to have a professional, conservative appearance, so it needs to be covered while at work - I'm thinking back or shoulder blade. I know what I don't want - no fairies, hearts, rainbows, butterflies, angels, or other "girly" things. I like eagles, but all the designs I see are very masculine and large. Any advice?

eagles are fairly 'manly' to begin with. so i think you'll be hard pressed to find anything more effeminate. but mainly, you shouldn't ask other people what kind of tattoo YOU should get. getting a tattoo is a pretty big choice that you will have to live with for the rest of your life. my advice is to take your time and be sure that's what you really want. and don't ask for other people's advice or approval about your choice of tattoo.

Hey every1 I am 18 and thinking of getting my 1st tattoo of a medium size butterfly on my right shoulder blade. Ive been looking at different sites but all of the tattoos are little kidish I want a beauiful tattoo of a butterfly. Any1 can help me? plz I need a good site.

Where can I find the best butterfly tattoos?

I was looking to have someone design my tattoo but I just think its going to be extra money and I might not even like the tattoo they draw. So im looking for a butterfly tattoo that I can put on my right shoulder blade. Im also looking for either chinese or arabic letters that can spell out Mimi. Thats what my grandfather use to call me. I am not sure yet what kind of letters I want but im not looking for "dirty" letters like cursive or anything english. I like soft letters that would look nice on a females body. I just think that american letters on a girl looks trashy (thats just my opinion). Please help!

You should look around the internet and modify one yourself. You should also be able to bring up a coupls of pictures you like to the tattoo place and have them do little changes themselves. I don't know if it will cost more or not, that seems like more of a decision the tattoo place makes themselves.

As far as the letters go you should be able to find a couple of translator websites that have those languages and translate something from English to Arabic (or whatever you want.) Since it is a translating website you can be pretty sure it doesn't say something random. Try Babblefish.

I am going to get a new tattoo, I already have 3 smaller ones and I would like a slightly larger one between my shoulder blades, lots of sites want you to pay for the pic, is there any good sites that are free. I am looking more specifically for a butterfly tattoo with some other tribal like artwork around it but I am still kinda looking for some ideas. Thanks.

How bad is the pain on your shoulder?

OK I am planning all my tattoos out in advance. I want to get a pink daisy for my mom on the front of my shoulder like by the clavicle bone like this LOCATION NOT THIS TATTOO. A piece like that for the most part will not be bad at all. But generally when getting up on your shoulder closer to your neck the pain greatly intensifies. Closer to your should the less amount of pain.

Best advise is to not worry about the pain. It is all tolerable. Just decide on your tattoo and where you think it will best fit.

OK so I am planning on getting a tattoo on my shoulder I know a basic idea of what I want, just wanted to know if you have any ideas how to make it unique, OK so it would be the infinity sign with the word dream in it. Hey doll , welp not to put your tattoo down but i have seen millions of girls with that tattoo already so i understand why you want to make it unique . How about you find a tattoo that actually has some meaning to you ? Something symbolic . For example my mothers favorite flowers are orchids , so i want to get orchids tattooed on me . If the infinity tattoo with the word dream in it has a meaning for you or significance then awsome ! If not , then awesome too , i just think it would be better if it had meaning . You want something you won't regret when your 80 years old ! How about you get something like " keep on dreaming " in beautiful cursive on your upper shoulder with some butterflies flying away from it instead of birds. I dont know if you know about Jenny rivera , but her symbol was the butterfly because of how it transforms . Dreams transform from nothing into something beautiful , the way butterflies go from caterpillars on the ground .. To beauties flying with the wind .. Like a dream right ? So why not ? Orrrr ... You can go along with the infinity sign thing and have butterflies flying away from it . Up to you ! Good luck i hope it comes out gorgeous !

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo but I'm not sure what to get exactly. Any good ideas? And once I decide what to get, what safety precautions should I take about the place, the artist, and the healing?

PLEASE oh PLEASE do NOT get a butterfly or something stupid like that.

WE (real) tattoo artists are sick of doing mundane, picked off the wall work, that you saw on your cousins, uncle's wife's babydaddy's mom's ankle.

Be original, draw the design yourself based on what you feel and where the pencil takes you. Then take it to a shop where you get a good vibe from the people behind the counter. If they can fix up the drawing and you like how they feel, then proceed, otherwise...stay a plainskin.

Hey guys I have recently been looking for tattoo ideas and on one blog I notice a few negative comments from guys. I currently have 3 tattoos. A butterfly on my upper arm, roses from my hip to my thigh, and a swirly design on my shoulder. I like to think of these as very feminine tattoos. I would just like to know what is your opinion of tattoos on women?

There will be guys that love them, and guys that hate them. It is all a matter of personal preference. You can't please everyone all the time, so why try? I love tattoos on women, the more tattoos the better. Before I got my sleeve, I would gawk at and compliment women with visible tattoos. They are the ones that inspired me to decorate my own body. I find I get alot of male attention due to my tattoos. Before my sleeve, I was a plain Jane that never got male attention. After my sleeve, I had something beautiful and unique about me. They are a great conversation piece. Both men and women come up to me and strike up conversations about them. I even inspired my mother in law to get her first tattoo at age 55. I say get as many as you want. Some people buy pretty paintings and hang them in their houses. We buy pretty artwork and put it in our skins. Best of luck to you and happy inking!
