i want to get a tattoo of a small butterfly on my hip, but i want it to mean something, so what are some small/short sayings or quotes i can get that has to do with like letting go, or something along the lines of letting your fears/problems or something "fly" away like a butterfly.

Amanda, the butterfly will speak for itself. It's art. Don't screw it up by adding lettering. If it's done well, it'll look great. There are a million ways to do butterflies. You'll like it better as a work of art.

Why!?!?! Why do you need a quote? Quotes are so cliche, and very, very boring. Let the tattoo say what you want it to say. Tattoos are meant to be art, not a bunch of words surrounding a nice picture. Plus, if you're doing it on your foot, the words will look like crap in a very short time. Word tattoos need to be large, and in a bold font. Small writing in cursive or a fancy font will look like scribbles. Don't ruin your tattoo with words.

What are some short rip quotes for a tattoo?

Q. My dad passed away about 3 years ago and I wanted to get a tattoo..I'm only sixteen so I want something that I'll still like years from now.

SO sorry for your loss. My grandfather recently passed away on March 11 2011. And in memory of him I am getting a tattoo on my shoulder blade of a butterfly which symbolizes freedom and the symbol for colon cancer which he died from.

A few nice quotes include

"To the world you may have just been somebody, but to all of us you were the world. "
"Non est ei similis" or " There is no one like him"
"Gone but not forgotten."
and... "always in our hearts" or you can say "always in my heart."

Are you just getting the words or an actual design with it. Because if your father really liked music, i found a picture of a treble clef and bass clef in the shape of a heart that would be really pretty to go with your saying.

Um tattoos aren't sins, and anyone who says otherwise is a bigoted asshole.
I don't conform to any religion, so I don't really know any bible quotes...
