Well i want a tattoo and the place im going to, you can be 16 with parental consent and my mom will sign for me, but do i have to have my birth certificate or just her there saying im 16??

Most of the time, you need an ID, but...
Swagger helps a lot. If you walk into a place acting like you are supposed to (read: allowed to) be there they may just sit you in the chair and ink you up. Hey, $100 is $100. If it's a slow night, since the artist usually keeps half (+tip) they might just do it no questions asked. Try going on a Tuesday.
Really though, they will probably ask for ID because most establishments will make a copy of it for a first time customer for legal (and auditing) purposes. (i.e. your crazy mom going in there and screaming because they destroyed her beautiful baby's perfect body.)
If they'll tat you at 16, just wait until then. Honestly, do you really think that whatever you want to PERMANENTLY etch on your body at your age (even at 16!) is something you're going to be proud of when you're older? But hey... if you really like butterflies and panthers, go ahead. Remember: TUESDAYS.
How much pain should i expect from my thigh tattoo?

I'm getting a tattoo in the next few weeks and I want to know what I should expect. Its gonna be rather big ( a butterfly with detailed wings landing on a tiger lily with a ray of light with words shining down on it) I haven't gotten one one in five years so I totally forgot.......also what should I buy for aftercare? I have the dial soap and a&d ointment but I need a lotion. Thanks for you help

It depends which side of your thigh and how much detail and color you're adding to it (the more detail and layers of color, the more it will swell and hurt)
Let me explain:
The inner thigh (the part where it touches the other thigh) is rather sensitive, so it will hurt significantly (like boiling water being poured down on your thigh), the swelling will be really big and scary and you my have trouble sleeping because of the constant rubbing against the other thigh, walking, running, sitting and other activities my be uncomfortable for approximately a week.
The front side (i mean what you see when you stand in front of a mirror) will definitely hurt and swell less (like falling off a running motorcycle and getting a nasty scrape), but the problem will be with the clothing, for example, jeans and tight skirts will rub on it and make you want to kill yourself, but it will calm down in about 3 to 5 days if you take good care of it.
The outer thigh (the side someone would see if you were standing next to them) will hurt next to nothing (like getting slapped jokingly, but several times, also it will get hot like a slap), and it is very comfortable because you can sleep on your side and avoid rubbing it on the bed, and with clothing it really does handle itself better, except for cases in which people may bump into you, like public transportation, and do keep in mind that since the skin is very thick on this side, the swelling will look very very scary, but it's actually normal, mine looked like it was seriously infected just a few minutes off the table, but it's just that the skin tends to swell ''higher'' because of the thickness, the swelling will disappear in about 2 to 4 days.
The back side of your thigh (right under your buttcheek) would be one of the most problematic areas, the skin is very sensitive here, it will hurt and burn A LOT (like having someone sanding your butt with thick sand paper) and your tattoo would swell like sourdough bread, again, because of the thickness of the skin, and you will have trouble walking. sitting, etc while it heals, which in this spot may take an extra week or two
Do use the antibacterial soap, remember for the first few days use the ointment, (first 5 days to a week) and as soon as you see it get ''hairy'' like when you're shedding skin from a sunburn, start using a moisturizing lotion. I won't suggest brands because i don't know which ones you have available where you live, but just make sure it contains vitamin E and double check that the lotion has NO ALCOHOL of any kind. you can also try to find an alcohol free formula for sensitive skin, but remember, the lotion is only to keep the tat from itching and peeling off, you should use an antibacterial ointment or tattoo goo for the first few days to make sure it won''t get infected.
Now, remember to use the moisturizer during the day, and at night try to keep it uncovered and let it breathe, if it rubs on something, you can loosely cover it with plastic or with a very very thin layer of gauze while you sleep, but ONLY if necessary, the tat needs to dry up so it can finish the healing process, if you keep it damp then bacteria will get an ideal environment to reproduce, so even when you wear lotion during the day, do only a thin layer and reapply every time you feel itchy, if you scratch it or pull off the shedding skin, you may ruin your tattoo! if you need more details, add more to the description and i will answer in a comment!
aand don't listen to the idiot that said it hurts like getting slapped with a needle multiple times, this person obviously has NEVER gotten a tatto... ! Good Inkin'
