Or could you estimate me prices by the length and width of a tattoo, if that's how it's worked out.

so between the shoulderblades at the biggest would be about 8x7? that could be several hundred dollars, $500? around there. smallest you'd probably want would be 5x4? i'd guess $350.
considering you go to a trusted shop & all that detail... and if you want color that'd be more expensive.
best to go to a shop and get an estimate. it all matters the time & amount of ink.

You could add a quote and have it inter-weaved into the tattoo somehow.
Add a fan, different prints, swirls, butterflies, geishas, pin-ups. It's really up to your personal taste. I like classic old school tattoos whereas you might like Japanese or tribal tattoos. Go along with your taste in art and tattoos and you'll get ideas.
