What are the basics when getting a tattoo?
What if you are under age?
Answer
i am a tattoo artist and heres my thoughts. tattoos hurt. plain and simple. its not the most excruciating pain you'll ever endure, but its a bit annoying all the same. a tattoo can feel different at different times. tattoo placement and certain skin areas can really amp up the pain factor. at times, tattoos feel like a little vibration. other times, like someone is holding a cigarette to your skin. its all about where you put it and how well the artist knows technique.
the basics of getting a tattoo:
1. be 100% sure of the design and the placement before you get one done.
2. find a well trained and preferably certified artist in your area
3. If underage, take a parent with you to sign all the proper forms and liablitly releases
4. endure the pain and give the artist the respect and time to complete your new beautiful artwork. most artist hate when they have to stop 100 times in one tattoo. it usually takes between an hour-3 hours for a tattoo. a small cute little butterfly only should take 45 minutes.
5. make sure you ask how to take care of it and follow the artist's directions 100%
6. enjoy your permanent artwork.
another pointer if you are underage.
if you are under 21 but over 16 most artist will tattoo you. if you are under 16, good luck. its harder to find someone that will tattoo and younger person because the maturity and pain threshold are not usually present at such an age. either way, make 100% sure of your design and make 100% sure of your parents decision. dont try to get a friend to sign for you because then you are forging and forfeiting the contracts you sign. if your parents get angry and want to sue the artist, the artist can then turn it around on you and your friend and cause more hurt than just the tattoo. most wont do this, but dont ever try to get away with something like that in the first place.

Designs for a barbed Wire Tattoo Cover Over?
Couture
I have a simple thin armband Barbed Wire Tat. What would be the best design (or suggested cover over design website) for me to have to cover over this tat?
Answer
The obvious answer is to put tribal over the barbed wire, but then you would have to do something to get rid of the tribal. Maybe just put a few different sized butterflies over the points and shade the wire brown or green like a honeysuckle vine. Butterflies seem to be very popular....just a thought - not a suggestion.
