What tattoo should I get to cover up self harm scars?

Q. My right thigh is completely covered in thin white scars, and a few deep purple thick scars and I want to get them covered up. I want something that resembles change, carrying on with life, or moving forward from the past

I was thinking either a Phoenix or a kind of decorated quote of some sort..

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Also please don't comment about self harm. This was a long time ago and I have quit and realized I was wrong.

It's fine :) we have all been there ... Maybe get something like "let go... But don't forget" as in saying that I am letting go and moving on but I have learned from my mistakes and will never go back.... Easy to just say the quote xD... Then get some pretty dark red roses with vines or some other flower that you like that has pedals that fall off that turn in to butterflies :) hope this helped

What should I get for my first tattoo?

Q. I'm 16 years old with some thin(yet deep enough to not disappear) self harm scars taking up the top of my left inner forearm. I decided to have them covered up (which my mother is all for by the way). The tattoo has to mean something. My ideas were a crown, an anatomical butterfly, a dragonfly, two crossed arrows, or a small quote. ( Im up for new tasteful ideas, though.) Im not asking for anyone to tell me to wait, or say I'm too young because my scars aren't fading and I went through a lot when I made them so I don't want them to just disappear. I want something to represent my struggle with depression and suicide. I need tasteful suggestions and opinions.

Answer
Something about Jesus.

Jesus Christ took the sins and pain of all mankind on him.
So therefor I think that would be the perfect tattoo over scars.

( A bath of tears and scars through the years
tattoos in prisons, looking forward to freedom from fears. )
