ember a

ii want a tattoo, and i've looked around but ii just cant find one.

Answer
You don't need to look for existing tattoos. You don't need to go to tattoo sites.
You should find any images, from any source, that appeals to you. You can draw something, you can take photos, find pictures, look in scrapbooks, the library, the net, look to nature, look in magazines, look in art books.
Find something that you haven't already seen in a tattoo. Then add to it, adjust it, put your own colors in it, put personal images, symbols, stuff from your thoughts, your dreams, etc.
Then take everything that you like - maybe a little from this, and a little from that - and go to your tattooist (licensed, reputable, and an artist whose work you like), and let him/her work out a custom tattoo design.
You say that you have looked, these are not uncommon images, ... so give it another try, and try to see through different eyes.
good luck

Butterflys...a sign of???

Brittany

Ever since I've been going out with my boyfriend, I've been seeing a butterfly everyday at the same time...1:37pm. Even if I'm at work, I'l be taking out trash or sweeping and a monarch will breeze right by me. If I'm at school I'll unintentionally go to the bathroom and I'll look out the window and there will be a butterfly flying by. It's a lil weird. If me and my boyfriend have a fight, I won't see one. I wanna know what it means lol. Help me haha

What does a butterfly symbolize? The butterfly is a symbol of transformation or change, love and joy.

It represents beauty, changes, taking flight, simplicity and peace. At first, its an ugly catepillar and no one will give it a second look. But with time and dedication, it becomes something marvelous to the human eye. It's a natural wonder.

So, if you had a break-up, after getting through some tough times, a butterfly just reminds you that you had to take time and appreciate what you had, and what you hope to be in the future.

Butterflies mean a new life, a new beginning, if you will.

Think that after years of trying to please everyone else by being someone you're not, you can be spontaneous and exhilarating! You are beautiful and calm. You are colorful and vibrant...just like the butterfly ... everything you want to continue to be! ~ Happy.

In paintings, particularly Dutch Renasance (sp) butterflies stand for fleeting love (Jacques Louis David, Cupid and Psyche).

Butterflies represents a new life for you. Are you changing in ways that you would never even think of changing right now? Seeing so many butterflies in your life right now may mean that your life is going through changes and you should be enjoying life to its fullest!

Traditionally, butterflies are pretty and so many people want them in their lives, whether in paintings or mere decoration on their bodies. In a deeper sense butterflies represent rebirth or transformation from the catterpillar to the beautiful butterfly.

A friend of mine got a butterfly tattoo recently...just because she likes butterflies. It doesn't "mean" anything! Check out tattoo symbolism here: http://tattoo.about.com/cs/beginners/a/symbols_intro.htm But, remember, sometimes a rose is just a rose. It doesn't mean or symbolize anything!

It could represent different things for different people. Here are some examples of Butterfly symbolism: Change, Joy and/or Color. The butterfly can also represent transition and freedom as well as peace.

The Native Americans believe that if you tell a secret to a butterfly, it is ever safe in their keeping, given that a butterfly can not speak.

Some people use a butterfly to symbolise someone close that has passed away. I believe that some European cultures believe that spirits or souls are trapped in white butterflies. Others just like the look of a butterfly and the tattoo may not represent anything significant to them.

A purple butterfly symbolizes the fight against Lupus, a type of cancer.

Other people think a butterfly represents a womens vagina.

So, given that you have been seeing butterflies everyday, at almost the same time, to me, this symbolizes all things good. It's love, it's joy, it's happiness! However, as the butterfly can fly away in any direction at a moment's notice, I would be cautious with your relationship. You can't capture the butterfly, or it will die. Give it freedom, and it will stay in your garden and drink the nectar. ;-)

Be happy!
