Tattoo advice?

Lindsay J

Okay so I'm debating on either getting a small butterfly tattoo like this: http://www.jamd.com/search?text=CariDee%20English&assettype=g&assetid=74163392&partner=community.livejournal.com
on my shoulder blade(I love butterflies, but I think it could be too clique) or getting a tiny scorpion with a pink bow tied to its end(I'm a Scorpio) behind my neck or on the top left side of my foot. What should I do? Advice?

When will people start researching instead of blindly repeating what they have heard from people who wnat to scare you owut of getting a tattoo.
Those who believe tattoos cause cancer look at the following site http://cancer.about.com/od/causes/f/tattooscancer.htm It states in simple terms the problem isnt the inks causing cancer its the fact that you cannot see melanoma formations on the skin. So lets just kick that myth to the curb.
Next ... oooh it will look awful when your a mom or grandma... or it will make your skin look awful when you are 70. Gee I dont know many 70 year olds with blemish free wonderful skin anyway.
The only advice you need is as follows..... Make sure you really want the design, that it means somthing to you and its something you like. Make sure you go to a reputable artist who has a clean studio and uses clean fresh ink, new needles and that you are happy with the cleanleness of the studio. Dont rush.
Also choose your placement carefully. There are still those who dont like tattoos and you may need to hide it at work or example if not now in the future. My wife and myself.. both in our 40s.. ( got 30 years left to see the bad effect on a 70 yearolds skin) have large tattoos on our upper arms both arms. Shes a nurse i look after our child. We can easily hide our tattoos when needed.
I am not trying to preach just guide you a little.
As for the design... both are a little clique as you put it. Horosope tattoos and butterflys... However.... you ask your artist to design the tattoo and make it different... for example incorporate the two designs.. then you have the best of both worlds. and a unique tattoo tooooo...
Good luck and als remember ...... Tattoos are addictive..... LOL

My husband has the sweetest tattoo. It's a basketball on fire going into a hoop (there are smaller basketballs there as well to make the effect realistic) and when it comes out of the hoop, the ball is frozen. It's in honor of his father who played ball and his nickname is Ice.
