How much should I expect to spend on a good medium size tattoo?

I want to get a medium size butterfly tattoo on my thigh and was wondering how much I should expect to spend to get a good one? I don't want to go too cheap and get a bad job but don't want to spend an arm and a leg for one. Also if you can suggest a good tattoo parlor in the Los Angeles area that would be great.

$100-$150 an hour at about three hours. The good thing is you can go have an hour done and come back when you have more money and get another hour of work done.

What do you guys think about inner thigh tattoos?

i was considering getting a black and blue butterfly tattoo on my left inner thigh to represent Angel Sanctuary, mirroring Belial's tattoo. Does it look ok there? I notice that it is quite a fatty area. Is it an area prone to fast tattoo detorioration?

it sounds like it would hurt since thats a sensitive area.
if the tat means somethin to you, then its ok to get it, and its not true that you should get it where everyone can see it. you can get it for yourself and youll know you only be sharin it with someone u care about.. or care enough about to let them look there.
one other thing, the butterfly to some people (especially if you get it there) would represent you as a whore. no offense. butterflies wit their wings always open (legs) goin from flower to flower (dif men)
